Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
We enjoyed this very much. I did substitute 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup milk for the heavy cream. Also, we like the texture of the potato chunks, so instead of pureeing the soup, I just added some potato flakes, which thickened the soup instantly.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Yum! My husband and kids loved these. I found that I needed to bake them for about 14-15 minutes though. In my oven, 12 minutes wasn't enough.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Based on other reviews, I was expecting this salad to be really great, but I had to doctor it up quite a bit. I originally made it as written, but the dressing was too salty and vinegary. I doubled the sugar, and it was much better. I also added a can of drained mandarin oranges and some lightly steamed broccoli to give it some color and liven it up. Still it was just OK.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
These tasted great, but after dinner I went to put them in the fridge, and they came out of the bowl in one solid chunk. For some reason, after they sit for a while, they're very solid! Now I'm worried about what to do with the leftovers.

Oatmeal Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
YUM! My whole family loved this. My kids each ate two pieces for an after-school snack, and would've had more if I let them. I used instant oatmeal instead of quick oats (because I needed a way to use it up), and topped it with a streusel topping. It was so delicious!

Spring Strawberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This is such a refreshing, delicious and simple salad. I leave out the poppy seeds (just because I don't like them), and I'm always asked for the recipe.

Spaghetti Salad III

Whenever I'm asked to bring a salad to a potluck, I always take this. The bowl is always empty when it's time to go home!

Tabbouleh III

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
I wasn't sure that I would like this, because it seemed like it would be very salty, but it was very good.

Orange Fluff I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This salad reminds me of one my grandma used to make. So creamy and refreshing. It doesn't last long around here. I could eat the whole bowl myself!

Candied Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
These are everyone's favorite carrots. My husband is particularly fond of them. Sometimes I add a splash of orange juice, just for a different flavor. Very good!

Quick and Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
Yum! I served this with vegetable rice medley (also from this site) and it was a big hit. The only thing is....too much pepper! I reduced it to 1/2 tsp, and we still thought it was too much. Next time I will use only 1/4 tsp. Nonetheless, a very tasty dish.

We love this recipe! We omit the artichoke hearts and add sliced kalamata olives. Delicious!

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This is my standard spaghetti sauce now. I never buy the bottled stuff anymore. I do use only one each of the green peppers and onions, but that's just personal preference.

Zesty Porcupine Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This recipe is great! The zesty sauce is so good that I often use 3 cans of tomato soup just so we have extra. I also use a full cup of cooked rice in the meatballs.

Easy Lasagna II

This lasagna recipe is great, and a real time saver. I sub ricotta for the cottage cheese and use 12 lasagna noodles. My family really likes it, and I love how quick and easy it is.

Calico Beans

This casserole, with a pan of "Golden Sweet Cornbread" (also from this site), is one of my husband's favorite suppers. I often omit the bacon to reduce fat and calories, and it's still delicious!

Tuna Noodle Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This has become my standard tuna casserole recipe. I increase the salt to 1/2 tsp, and use large shells instead of small. They really capture the tangy tuna filling. I also like to top this casserole with a handful of shredded cheddar cheese during the last 15 minutes of baking. Yum!

This recipe was excellent. I don't even like apples much, but I loved this. I use this crumble topping on all my crisp recipes now! Thanks for a great recipe.
