Cornbread Dressing II

I made my own cornbread recipe using buttermilk instead of the one listed. I was afraid I had ruined it because I accidently used the evaporated milk instead of the soup but it still worked and was very tasty.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

I wish there were six stars for this one. It was fantastic. I used the yellow sweet potatoes rather than the red yams and it was great. I made it 3 days ahead and it still turned out perfectly.

Dobos Torte

This recipe was not an easy one but the results were impressive. I took it to a party where they were serving Hungarian foods. It was painstaking to bake each layer, cool off the pan and then make the next layer. It took me two days to make. I made the layers one night and then assembled it with the frosting the next day. It kept well in the fridg and everyone liked it.

No Sugar Apple Pie

I found this pie to be extremely tart. I think next time I will use a sweeter apple than Granny Smith. Also I think I will start the oven at 450 for a few minutes and then lower to 350 because the crust I make has a lot of shortening and it did not crisp up and brown sufficently. The recipe with the nuts on top sounds better.

Best Ever Pie Crust

This is the first time in 30+ years of cooking that I have been able to make a decent pie crust! It was flaky and delicious and didn't even burn on the edges.
