Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
I realized I was out of vanilla, so decided to try adding 3 tablespoons of non-dairyfrench vanilla coffee creamer. It worked like a charm! Not a heavy cookie either, which means you can eat more. :) Family showed up, and the cookies seem to disappear as they left to go home. Luckily there was plenty to go around.

Real Southern Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
True southern cornbread recipes may vary per family, but as far as I'm concerned this one was very well worth making and eating and there were no leftovers. The texture is great, and doesn't fall apart too much but isn't too cakey either. I added an extra tablespoon of oil to the batter itself, because I need the extra calories. It was still awesome. I'll add some bacon drippings next time, and maybe even a couple tablespoons of chopped jalapenos and cheddar for more of an entree style cornbread. I served it with a pot of pinto beans w/onion, and chopped pork rib meat. Delicious!

Greek Spaghetti II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Sometimes something simple is just what's needed. This was fast, simple and yet delicious! I used grated parmesan but next time will definitely use the shredded. Otherwis, I went exactly by the recipe. I served it with steamed brocolli florets with butter and salt, and garlic toast. Great for a change, and my Mom loved it!

Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This made me so sad... SAD THAT I DIDN'T FIND THE RECIPE SOONER!!! After reading other reviews I used three bags of microwave movie butter popcorn, sprayed the paper bag with cooking spray, and microwaved the caramel sauce for three minutes stirring every minute and then followed directions exactly just cutting microwave times by about 10 seconds. Remember... microwave times vary and I was using 1100 watts. This was so easy and so delish. It cooled to a perfect crispy caramel corn. Wasn't overly sweet, but use less popcorn if you want it sweeter. This was perfect and oh so buttery which made it even better. I need the calories, getting prepared for chemotherapy again. Thanks SUBGIRL!

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
This is by far the very best recipe I've made from AllRecipes.com! I used the whole wheat Ritz crackers and it was awesome! Everyone went back for seconds until it was devoured! Yum... will be making this often... Thanks!

Cola Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This is the best, simplest, easy clean up pork chop recipe I've found. Easy to clean up because there are none left to refrigerate! You'll be surprised at the tenderness, juiciness, and not near as sweet with the cola as you might expect. Just a mild sweet flavor that everyone loved so much that they all went back for seconds. My daughter doesn't normally MMMmmmmmmm... out loud at the table (she's 23) but this was so good, she didn't even realize she was doing it! I served this with roasted seasoned potatoes (cooked in oven with pork chops) and green beans! Big time saver! Thanks for adding this one!

Grandma's Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This recipe was perfect as is, only thing I did different was divide each apple into 8 slices, instead of 4. I made two pans and they were gone before they cooled! If you like apple pie, you'll love this!

Honey-Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
Very easy recipe with lots of flavor! I used can carrots due to what I had on hand, drained the juice and I added one tbsp. of butter as well. Used it for a side for my chicken and dumplings! Delish!

Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
I cooked this recipe just as called for except on top of the stove (less time). It was wonderful over a bed of rice! I needed the calories of the 2 cups of brown sugar, as I'm a cancer survivor trying to gain my weight back! This was sure to give me an appetite too!
