This is delicious, but I agree with other reviewers. My goodness, you don't need the salt...at all! And I only did 1 tbs. sugar, 1 can tomato paste, and increased mozzarella to 1 lb. shredded. I used fresh basil instead of the dry and omitted Italian seasonings because they often contain oregano which accounts for the "Stouffer's" taste. I also agree you should double the ricotta because its not nearly enough to use over 2 layers. This comes out soooo moist and tastes even better if you bake it the night before, let it cool completely before refrigerating, then bring it to room temperature the next day before reheating in 350 oven for 30 minutes. As someone who is truly off the proverbial boat from Italy, I am impressed with Mr. Chandler's recipe!!
