Gracie's Cake
About this Cook
Married, 2 kids,I work full time as Diabetes Nurse educator. Active in my church and with kids. Call myself an expert cook since I have been cooking since age 6.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook just about anything. Just don't like to bake! I'm not big on measuring! I love to hide veggies in everything, then listen to my family discuss all the veggies they won't/don't eat!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
The same menu for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. It never varies it's always the same stuff. It's kinda comforting knowing it will always be the same.
My cooking triumphs
Since baking is not my thing. I am most proud of the B-day cakes I have made with my daughter. We made a Blue Jeans cake and a cake that looks like a purse. They actually looked like the picture!
My cooking tragedies
I forgot to soak some dried kidney beans before putting them in chili. My husband will not let me forget the "crunchy chili".

Hoppin' John
Be in I'm from the South I been makin' this my whole livin' life! We call it "poor man's supper" Always have cornbread and make it a meal. No red pepper flakes add a little sugar to peas and cook the rice (not with the peas) is my only changes. Roll Tide!
