Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
I have been dying to try my hand at bread making and this recipe is exactly what I was looking for! Easy and delicious! I only used 1/4 cup of sugar and 5 cups of bread flour and it was exactly what I wanted! Mine didn't rise above the pans though and after reading more reviews I will be using 2 tbsp of yeast from now on. Love, love this recipe! My house smells amazing and my daughter couldn't stop eating it! Fluffy deliciousness! Thanks for sharing!

Love this recipe! So easy! I confess, I used quick acting yeast and it worked beautifully! Added garlic powder to dough. Smelled amazing! Thanks for sharing! I already added this to my special box of recipes!

Fried Cabbage II

This is similiar to the one I had been using for years. I like the idea some reviewers had about adding Balsamic Vinegar instead. This one is absolutely going in my recipe box! My husband is in heaven! Thanks bunches!

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
I love this recipe! I made it and baked it in the same day. I also added a tsp of garlic powder by mistake(thought I was adding onion powder)And added a cup or so of med. cheddar. I was afraid I had ruined it with the garlic but it was fabulous! I will make these again and Much Thanks for sharing!

Zucchini Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This is my favorite way to use Zucchini! I love any type of squash but my family usually won't even try it. This is the exception! I made this exactly as written except I squeezed the water out of zucchini as others suggested. I also cut back on the amount on onions and slightly sauteed them before adding to the rest of mixture. Turned out beautifully! I will make this again and again! Thanks for sharing!

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
I really liked this dish. Didn't change a thing except I used sharp cheddar. Took others advice and baked the hashbrown layer by itself first. Next time I will be sure to bake on bottom rack of oven for better browning of hashbrowns. A keeper, thanks!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
Here's my take on this recipe. Yes it is kind of bland but it is creamy, cheesy goodness! I have been making this recipe for years and I gotta say I don't understand the necessity of all the steps.I make this recipe with 2 cans cream of chicken, omit the mushroom. I omit celery and I do saute the onions. Now here is where I deviate from the recipe. After sauteing the onions, I add everything together in a big bowl and mix(I don't even cook the rice)I then pour the mixture into greased 9 x 13 pan and cook for 15 minutes. I stir the casserole and then bake another 15-25 minutes. Comes out perfect each time, lots easier and I have had people complain I never make enough! P.S. I do thaw the broccoli before adding to the recipe.

I have been making sausage balls for many years and I have always added an envelope of dry onion soup mix with the bisquick. This is a good basic recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2013
Made this last night and my husband said it was identical to restaurant version! Only thing I did differently was omitting chopped onion and just used dried minced. I figured they would have time to soften and they did. Good recipe!

Good starting recipe But way, way too much sugar!! I could not eat, was too sweet. Next time I will decrease sugar and add in small increments.

I feel these were missing something. The filling didn't have much taste when it was hot. Tasted better cold. My husband is German and had never heard of these. I heard they were polish instead.

BBQ Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
The flavor was good but I must of done something wrong. I followed others suggestions and covered the dish. I also baked longer than stated based on the others, but Mine came out slightly dry. Will keep looking for a recipe that gives consistent results.
