Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2014
I made this with a smoked turkey drumstick from our local Renaissance Festival instead of the sausage. I pulled a lot of the meat off and put in the frig to add after everything cooked in the crock pot. I put the leg with meat remnants into the crock pot for flavor and removed after about 5 hours then I added the meat from the frig. I was going from memory and forgot the bay leaves and oregano, but added salt and pepper. I used 8 cups of water and a crushed clove of garlic instead of garlic powder. I served this with a loaf of crusty u-bake bread. Fantastic! Brought back memories of my grandma's split pea soup. Perfect for a rainy Sunday after spending Saturday at the Renaissance Festival!

Slow Cooker Boneless Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
This was phenomenal. I halved the seasoning for a 3 pound turkey breast roast. Moist and delicious. Thanks for posting! I will be making this again and again.

Mini Cinnamon Cakes

These looked terrible but taste really good. Next time I will attempt to shape the dough so that they look better. Thanks for the recipe!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
Excellent cookies! I added zest from 1/2 a lemon, doubled the vanilla and replaced 1 cup of sugar with 10x powdered sugar as suggested by another reviewer. Put dough in the fridge overnight, baked in the morning. Will make again and again. So glad I made homemade instead of buying a tube of dough.

Zucchini Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
I changed things up a little based on other reviews. I salted the zucchini slices and let them sit to draw out some of the moisture, then grilled them. Stored them in the fridge overnight and assembled this today. I did not use the olive oil or onions. I spooned spaghetti sauce on each slice individually, topped them with shredded mozzarella and baked as directed. Dusted with parmesan cheese after they came out of the oven. Served with mini bowtie pasta with olive oil, salt, pepper, parmesan and parsley. Can't wait to have the leftovers tomorrow!

Reuben Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
This pizza was fantastic! I used a prepackaged store brand thin crust and used leftover cabbage instead of saurkraut. The corned beef was from this site - slow cooker corned beef for sandwiches. Thanks for the recipe - will definitely make this again and again!

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
This was awesome! I gave it four stars because I made some changes - I used reduced fat crescent rolls, 1/3 cup Splenda baking mix instead of sugar in the cream cheese mixture, omitted the butter completely and used Florida Crystals natural sugar and cinnamon on top. I served this at room temperature with light cherry pie filling. Delish! Will make again often.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
This soup was easy to make and tasted fantastic. Will make again and again. I added 1/2 t ground thyme and 1/4 t ground rosemary. I didn't have half and half so I used whole milk. As suggested by other reviewers, I used 4T flour. Thanks Kristi!

Aunt Mary's Eggplant Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Yum-o. I have a new favorite "meat"ball. I used breadcrumbs from the Costco bread with cloves of garlic - it's very firm. As other reviewers suggested, I smashed the eggplant while it was cooking, added a little bit of mozzarella and pine nuts. I served these with marinara sauce for dipping with the Alla Checca sauce with pasta from this site for a little twist - pasta with a light sauce, these yummy, hearty eggplant balls with a heartier sauce.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
This made the skinless (YUK!) kielbasa my husband bought palatable. It was great with brown minute rice made with a chicken boullion cube, dried parsley and a shake of Molly McButter. Looking forward to eating the leftovers!

Alla Checca

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
Light and tasty and a good excuse to buy a huge chunk of Pecorino Romano from Costco. Like other reviewers, I added some fresh mozzarella right before mixing in the pasta. I also sliced the garlic instead of mincing it which made for some spicy bites.

LauHilLau Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I have made these cookies twice now. I used Splenda sweetener baking mix (1/2 & 1/2 sugar & splenda???) both times. I also used half milk chocolate chips and half cinnamon chips. These are my favorite cookie - the only thing I will change next time is to add a teaspoon of salt because they are very sweet. Easy and good.

Sauerkraut Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
This was fabulous! My husband, who claimed to not like sauerkraut, loved it. I did not rinse the sauerkraut and cut down on the sugar.
