About this Cook
I'm happily married to a man who loves to try new things as much as I do. I absolutely love to cook, of course. But I'm also into travel, scuba diving, camping, hiking, running and martial arts.
My favorite things to cook
Anything I haven't made before.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is a true New England family, mostly in Maine. And Thanksgiving is my favorite time to visit. It's a shining example of colonial tradition with the turkey, a dozen different sides, homemade rolls, and certainly not to mention 12-14 homemade pies all from scratch filling an entire table. Dinner is kicked off with a pink champagne toast. Eat your heart out Martha Stewart!
My cooking triumphs
I love to make things some people wouldn't even try at home. Egg rolls, spinach pie, and very gourmet dishes with obscure ingredients. I probably have hundreds of dollars wrapped up in just spices alone. I take after my Mom.
My cooking tragedies
My first roux (white sauce). Lumps abound! But then again, I don't know anybody's whose turned out the first time.

Basic Crepes
Easy to make and just the way I remember them to be at a fabulous French restaurant in St. Maartin.

Crepes with Spinach, Bacon and Mushroom Filling
Despite the hard work and many dirty dishes, this was absolutely delicious. Hubby and I had fun making this together. The only change I made was to cut the lemon juice in half. It was perfect that way. Do not eliminate the sauce. It needed it.
