Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
My teenage son cooked this for us and it is awesome! We only added a couple tablespoons of oyster sauce as per others recommendations, other than that cooked it verbatum. I've never eaten this but it is a keeper for sure, thanks!

Tender Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
I gave these a five star but I added 3 tsp almond extract, 1/4 more powdered sugar to the dough before baking and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, then after they baked I mixed powdered sugar/milk and drizzled it on top of the cookies. They would have been way to dry and bland without it! But now they are so good!

Mexican Style Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2013
I love this pork recipe. I was skeptic putting it in the crock pot with so little water but it does end up very tender. I added a half jar of chipotle salsa and some taco sauce. This is a keeper!

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
This was very good but only after reading the other reviews, I did add a can of black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, extra cummin, garlic and taco seasoning. I also spread a can of refried beans on the bottom of the casserole dish. Served this with corn chips. I added 3 cups of sharp cheddar cheese to the top before baking. MMMMM it was so good and the whole family loved it! It takes a 13X19 size baking dish, this makes a lot! After I fried up the ground beef and other ingredients I transfered it to the baking dish with the refried beans on the bottom, this way I could store the leftovers in the fridge without removing it from the dish. (oh, I forgot to add the sugar, it does not need it).

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2013
I thought I would switch things up from my copy cat Mrs. Fields recipe I usually use, and go with something that does not call for oatmeal or ground oatmeal, and this is it! The only thing per other reviews was to bake at 325 for 12 min instead, and the cookies came out softer and lighter in color. I love these cookies and they came out great! It's a keeper!

Rice Cooker Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
I cut back the recipe to a serving for three and the milk boiled out of my rice cooker. I have a small rice cooker but thought it would work. So after an hour my rice still isn't cooked. Make this with pre cooked rice instead.

Iowa Pork Steak

This was very good however I sauted the mushrooms and onion with a little red wine before adding to the meat. I also used a slow Cooker. Turned out great. We had it with mashed potatoes. Yummy.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
I am trying this for dinner tonight! It sounds so good! I did score a great deal on my pork roast, I got it for half off the original price. I didn't want to spend 15.00 bucks for the tenderloin, so I got a boston pork boneless roast, and it's huge. all for 6.00 bucks and I'm using faygo and frosty mug root beer! Yummm. I'll let you know how it turns out! Ok, so same day....I just got done eating this for dinner....OUTSTANDING! Thank you so much Livvie's Mammy for sharing this recipe! It is by far better than any other we have tried, and this will be the recipe we use from now on. This is a great dinner to make when it is 93* out with the air off. The pork was extremely tender and I used sweet baby ray's bbq sauce, my favorite for anything, and only ate it with potato chips, the salty of the chips complimented the sweetness of the pulled pork. Thanks again!! One last thing........it only took 5 hours in the crock pot!

Turkey in a Bag

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I cook out turkey this way every year. The turkey always comes out moist, even if it's in for longer than directed! I usualy just add the flour to the bag, salt and papper the bird and butter it.

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

This was very good and will make it again. I will try the cream of mushroom soup in it next time, but really I don't think it needs it.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
we only had one serving of this, it was ok, but I did what others recommended and that was to mix the juice from the peaches into the cake mix.I also added an egg to the cake mix, maybe I shouldn't have. Other than that it turned out fine, not soggy, but the taste was just not there for us. I usualy make peach cobbler from scratch. Thanks though

Bread Machine Calzone

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
I made this for dinner tonight and it was a hit with everyone, and if it's not good they'll let me know! the only thing I added was pizza sauce, shredded mozarella cheese and pepperonis., then roll up the sides because I couldn't do the braiding thing, and then brush the top and sides with olive oil, sprinke on basil, parmesan cheese and salt. Everything was very flavorful, and I'll make it again! Thanks for sharing.
