Born in London, lived in Yorkshire and Northants but now living and loving it in sunny Devon. Mum to 4 children ages 35, 30, 13 and 9, a lhasa apso dog, 2 cockatiels and a small parrot.
My favorite things to cook
One pot meals made of whatever things I have in at the time, lasagne, fruit crumble, sponge cakes, cauliflower and broccoli cheese.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make loads of mince pies at xmas and share with family and friends.
My cooking triumphs
I can do Sunday roasts pretty well and pastry (I have cold hands which is great for pastry).
My cooking tragedies
Mum was an excellent very traditional meat and two veg cook and we never ate rice or pasta meals at home so with no experience of cooking those, when I first married I decided to make fried vegetable rice - only trouble is I didn't realise you had to boil the rice as well as fry it! I didn't make that mistake again lol.
