Slow Cooker Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
Served this soup for supper to my husband, my parents and young nieces. Everyone raved about it! I used ground turkey, and I added a pound of turkey sausage, and used flavoured tomatoes (garlic and basil). I only used 1.5 quarts beef broth, and used 0.5 quarts water (was worried about the sodium content and knew the flavoured tomatoes would help with taste). I also cooked it at low instead of high. Served it with biscuits! Will definitely be on the slow cooker rotation. Thanks for a great recipe!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
I "christened" my new slow cooker this weekend using this recipe. At the suggestion of other reviewers, I also added a few other vegetables and used fresh parsley. I also used a cross-rib roast, and cut it up into smaller pieces. It was so tender - it melted in our mouths! My husband really enjoyed this recipe and it will definitely be on our slow cooker meal rotation. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Chicken in Every Pot Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
I made this recipe last night for my family of seven. It got rave reviews all around. I made two changes to the recipe - I used cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom and I added one teaspoon thyme instead of the garlic powder (did not have any). Will definitely be keeping this recipe around for all left over chicken and turkey! Thanks for a great recipe!

Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2006
Great recipe! I substituted pecans for the walnuts, but kept everything else the same. Thanks for the tip on how to peel the squash! I've been eyeing them at the grocery store, but have never been quite sure as to how to cook them. This was a fantastic start for me! Husband liked it to and I will be serving it as part of our Thanksgiving feast this year.

Wild Rice Stuffing for Turkey

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
Made this recipe over the weekend. Using croutons instead of spending time cutting day old bread is such a SUPER idea! We all found it to be very flavourful! I omitted the butter completely. I also added sweet and hot Italian sausage. I stuffed part of it in the turkey, and baked the rest in an 8X8 square pan. Leftovers were even better! Thank you for such a great recipe!

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Really loved this recipe! Followed the recipe as is and they turned out looking just like their picture. I might try using whole wheat flour only next time just to make it even healthier!

Buffet Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I LOVE this recipe! I made it for my twins first birthday party and it was a true hit! The recipe makes lots so I had enough for the next day which I served over rice. No one asked me for the recipe because I was too busy reciting it to everyone who was trying them! The flavour is really good too - and the ingredients were super easy to find!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
I made this recipe for my family of seven this past weekend. It was enjoyed by all and there was nothing left. Although I followed the recipe for 12 servings, I was only able to get seven servings - and that's with two children with smaller appetites. I did serve this dish with rice and sides of biscuits and garlic bread which helped make the smaller servings seem bigger. Have been asked to make it again, and I will but will definitely adjust the recipe. Thank you!

Erica's Delicious Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
I made this recipe this past weekend and I'm truly up in the air about it. I thought the vegetables tasted amazing however, I wasn't impressed with the meat. The top of the roast was pretty dry but the bottom of the roast that had been cooking in the liquid all day was tender. My husband enjoyed it, but I still need to tinker with it a bit more to make it a dynamite recipe.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
This pizza dough was as advertised basic and quick! I made it Saturday night and our pizza was ready in no time. I completely appreciated how quickly our meal came together, however, I would try to flavour the dough somewhat the next time I make it with herbs or garlic as it was a bit on the bland side despite the numerous toppings we had on the pizza. This is the reason I only gave it four stars. Great recipe and will be my go to for future pizzas!

Toffee Bar Coffee Cake

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
I made this coffee cake this past weekend. I wasn't overwhelmed with the taste and felt that it was lacking something. I think if I was ever to make it again, I would be sure to serve it alongside some caramel sauce to give it some extra flavour.

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
This is a great recipe for families with different taste buds. I fed my family of six this recipe Superbowl Sunday and what I liked about it was that it wasn't too hot for the young or older ones and for us in the middle we were able to heat it up to our liking. I served it up with some garlic bread and the meal was complete. I only added four cans of beans - three red kidney and one black bean. I don't think the recipe suffered from the lack of the other two cans. Has anyone made this recipe and added cornstarch to thicken it up? I didn't find it overly thin, but debated with my sister whether or not to add the cornstarch. In the end we left it as is.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
These are fantastic! I made them using whole wheat flour, pecans and some chopped up white chocolate in addition to the two cups of chocolate chips. I used butter in place of the butter flavoured shortening. My yield was 40 cookies.
