Hot Cross Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
These were very good and I have been making them for eons. I do add glaced fruit bits such as lemon, cherries etc in very small amounts. A good way to make the crosses is to prepare the frosting in a ziplock bag and then just cut off one corner and use it to decorate the buns. Sometimes I add small amounts of sliced almonds to the mix.

Chilies Rellenos

This is a very good example of how to make a good recipe even better and easier. Much more simple then preparing individual peppers. Wonderful with a citrus, Avocado salad.

Shirley's Maine Clam Chowder

Just about as perfect as it gets. Good sourdough bread and some citrus salad or Waldorf salad and you have a real Saturday night meal.

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
No crust=no Quiche. We prefer the traditional Quiche Lorraine. This has no flavor and is oh so bland. If you are lazy and will accept something other than a quiche you will like this I am sure.

Spicy Flank Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
this steak would have been far more tender if it had been marinated in some oil and wine or wine vinngar. There was not much taste to it and I would have used a greater selection using Oregano and a lot more garlic.

Grilled Salmon with Avocado Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
The salmon was too cooked and dry. I never cook a large thick piece of salmon more then 2.5 minutes per side. My family did not like the avocado on the side. Rice needs some spice. Can't get over grilling a piece of salmon for 15 minutes. It cooks after you take it off but like Ahi Tuna we like it very rare inside just past the cold point.

Torsk

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
We did not care for this recipe at all. It was too watery and why would you soak it in sugar? It gave a very noticible sweet taste. Woudn't make it again, Prefer nutted baked or deep fried.
