G-Ma T's Barbecue Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
I have a pork shoulder in the Crockpot headed towards pulled pork. I wanted a special barbecue sauce. This is an excellent basic recipe - all the important elements are there. I did tweak it a little and it is AMAZING! I used a little less worcestershire sauce, fresh minced garlic instead of granulated, used Sriracha instead of Tabasco and added some onion powder and two bay leaves. THEN, I added two tablespoons of Jack Daniels whiskey. I've decided to make a huge batch and keep it in the fridge. It is SO good!

Crab Cakes II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
Excellent! I only did two tiny little tweaks - not based on any shortcoming in the recipe, but just on personal preference. I added a couple TBS of very finely chopped celery, and about 1/8 of a tsp of cayenne...just for a little pop! Loved them...even my "crab neutral" husband liked them.

Beef or Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
I cut this recipe in half - there are only two of us here. I did, though, make it as written except for the substitution of a tbls of dehydrated sweet onion for the green onion. The filets are marinating and I don't know quite yet how this recipe will turn out - I can say, though, the marinade was delicious! I'm quite optimistic! Not too salty, not too sweet. Quite tasty! I'm sure I'll give it five stars when the steaks are done.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
These turned out great, but I found an alternate use for them. I used a little less sugar and a little more yeast. They proofed up big, round and fluffy. Looking at them, I knew what I had to do...tonight I split them in half, toasted the halves and made some of the best cheeseburgers ever! They made fabulous buns!

Marinated Cherry Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Every time I've made this, I swear it's better! Discovered this recipe months ago and my hubby and I have had it at least once a week since. SO good!! I tried it once using fresh herbs - not nearly as good. I do like to use seasoned rice vinegar, though.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
I've never been a peanut butter cookie fan, but my Sweetie is. I decided to do something nice and make some just for him. This recipe is SOOO good. Reading other reviews I kind of sloppily measured the peanut butter and flour (a little more of each) and did add vanilla. I've been told by my husband and my two neighbors who covet peanut butter cookies, that these are the best they've ever had. I even like them. I've made them twice this week and will probably continue to do so on a regular basis. These really are very good.

Baked Parmesan-Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
This was SOOO good. I really didn't make any additions or revisions. I grow my own herbs, so I threw in a tiny little bit of fresh rosemary with the others, but that's all. I served it with a side of grilled asparagus and some sliced fresh tomatoes and avocadoes with an herb and rice vinager dressing. It was wonderful. I don't remember if it was the submitter or a reviewer who commented on how good the leftovers were in chicken salad. I made it for lunch today and it was hit!

Mexican Beans

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
OMG...these are SOOO good. I was in a bit of a hurry, checking side dish recipes to go with my carne asada tacos, at 4:00 pm on a Sunday. I happened, though, to have canned pintos in my pantry. I followed the recipe substituting the canned pintos. YUMMY! My sweetie loved them too!
