Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Thanks for the recipe, but this was not for us. I was able to save it by adding a can of potato soup and cheddar cheese soup, then put it all in another pan topped with more cheese and bacon bits until cheese was melted. With my revisions hubby came back for seconds but as written we did not care for it. I love slower cooker recipes so keep them coming!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
This recipe was good and easy, but nothing special as my family said--but I really liked it. I did alter and used two cans of the soup because I added chicken to the recipe and probably used a little more cheese and s/c as well. I will make it again but it probably won't be in a regular rotation.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
I would have given this recipe five stars but not everyone thought so. The women loved it. The men said it was okay and I could serve it once every two or three months. I added two extra chicken breasts to cover everyone so I doubled the recipe....except for the spinach. I used two frozen and one can because I didn't have enough of the other. I rinsed both well and squeezed dry. It came out perfect. Served with creamy chicken rice, green beans, and bread. Plenty of sauce left over. Rich enough, I didn't need the extra chicken breasts but now we have plenty for lunch tomorrow! Expensive to make but it will be a nice change. Thanks for the recipe!

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
"This is good." That was hubby's remark. I LOVED IT cuz it was easy and a quick fix. He said he'd like to see me try it with spagetti sauce next time more like a traditional parmesan chicken. I didn't have a full two cups of parmesan and had to use about 1/4 cup potato flakes but other than followed the directions exactly. Mine didn't brown evenly and I was scared the one side was getting mushy and since the top didn't seem to be browning I turned them once three quarters through the cooking time (45 min). I think I'm a pretty tough food critic and for taste I would probably do a 3 but gave it four for ease and the fact you always have the ingredients in the kitchen. THANKS FOR SHARING!

Busy Day Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
I fixed this yesterday and listened to other reviewers advice and added some chicken broth because I was afraid the barbeque sauce would stick after cooking six or seven hours. I added a cup and half which I thought proved to be too much. I also took others advice about seasoning the chicken with one of those chicken rubs which also proved to be too much. Next time I'll probably add about a 1/3 cup broth and follow the directions as written. The chicken was moist and tender but hubby thought the flavor was too much and he didn't like the skin on. I will also probably try chicken breast alone next time or I will take the skin off all drumsticks except maybe two next time. But the idea was great and super easy! Thanks for the recipe.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
This was awesome. Made it last night and was suprised to find I had additional kids coming to supper. Adjusted the recipe by adding additional 2 cups hashbrowns, another 1/2 cup cottage cheese and added ham to the recipe. Left out the onion cuz I wasn't sure the teens would like it. Four out of five came back for seconds. Heats up nice the next day as well. Will probably increase the meat more cuz hubby likes meaty stuff. Also I can see where the onion and adding green peppers would throw this one over the top. Out of the three breakfast casseroles I've tried from this site, this is by far my favorite. Great!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I love soup and hubby doesn't. Was looking for one more to add to the three hubby approves of. Hubby likes meaty soups so I used alot more chicken but didn't measure it. I had to use three boxes of rice before you even knew there was rice in it. Didn't measure the veggies but per the advice of other viewers (and the fact I like veggies) added the carrots, celery and peas (for presentation as well). Didn't measure the cream, butter or broth, but whatever I used it worked. Only gave it four stars because my daughter didn't like it. Hubby said I could make it again!!!! Thanks for the recipe.

Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Fixed this on labor day weekend when a bunch of friends were spending the night. One of the girls has MS and couldn't eat ham so I doubled the chicken. I liked it alot, but seemed like everyone went for the other casserole I made. Which is why I only gave it three stars. I'm going to make it again as the receipe calls for and I'll probably increase the cheese.

Breakfast Casserole III

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
I gave this four star because my husband liked it although we both thought it was a little bland. With that said I did switch out ham and bacon for the sausage which could be part of the problem but will probably add more onion and bell peppers next time and maybe a dash of something to add a little spice. Like everyone else said no matter, it is a good base recipe. Thanks for the recipe.

Southwestern Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
My husband doesn't like really spicy stuff so I used a can of mild rotel instead of the chilies as other suggested. I also added black beans to the receipe. Very similar to a chicken receipe I have. I loved it and it was a great way to serve turkey when you've had enough sandwiches.

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
My family loved this. I ran out of swiss cheese so did my second pan with chedder. It was good and a great way to make meatloaf (since I don't like meatloaf). This was a great change but the prep time was a little more than I wanted.

Easy Cheese and Ham Scalloped Potatoes

This was okay. My daughter didn't like it all. My hubby came back for seconds but didn't rave about it. It wasn't bad and but wasn't outstanding.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
This was so easy and I was surprised it wasn't spicer than it was (although I used the milder Rotel cause hubby doesn't like spicy). Anyway, turned out great although I thought it could have been souper so I added a can of chicken broth which didn't hurt it at all. Thanks for the receipe we will definately fix this again.
