Followed the directions exactly and it was perfect. Make sure butter is softened and add more liquid if consistency is too thiick.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2013
I add a cup of sugar when I want it a little sweeter and more spreadable and leave it as is when I want more of that cream cheese kick. Great frosting.

Chef John's Caramel Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
I followed the directions exactly but my chicken was a soupy mess after 10 minutes. I drained all of that off and just put a little more sauce in to caramelize. That worked and then I put the rest of the sauce in. My family liked it but I thought the flavor was off - just no wow factor and it had a weird flavor. Maybe it was the fish sauce?

Heavenly Chipped Chocolate and Hazelnut Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
This was pretty good but I would like to make some more adjustments to make it even better. I used chocolate wafers for the crust. I think I may make a different cheesecake recipe and then incorporate ingredients from this one to make a more hazelnutty cheesecake.

Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2013
This is a great base recipe. I added a LOT more buffalo sauce and didn't add any cheddar. I think that would ruin the taste of it. I also added a little blue cheese dressing to the mix. I also only added 1 T of the brown sugar, think it would be too sweet to add all of it.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 19, 2013
I added some shredded carrot and I think some snap peas might be a nice addition. Cooked the chicken with Trader Joe's black pepper sauce brushed on. Added some sriracha to the dressing.

Brussels Sprouts with Bacon Dressing

Reviewed: May 19, 2013
I added Tabasco to the dressing instead of cayenne. I think the addition of craisins or something similarly sweet would be a nice addition.

Guinness® Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
My family loved this! The consistency was like a whole wheat cornbread but that was because I didn't do the step of letting it sit in the over for 30 minutes when it was done. I needed the oven for something else. I will try it the correct way next time but regardless, they loved the consistency and flavor of this bread even without the last step.

Wisconsin Five-Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2013
This was a heart attack on a plate in the best way possible. Used what cheeses I had on hand - mozzarella, swiss, muenster, provolone and 2 kinds of parmesan. I added a tablespoon of pesto and some tabasco to the ricotta mixture instead of the dry seasonings. This added a nice punch of flavor. I think next time I will increase the ricotta mixture so that it will be creamier. Maybe not double but by half. Much quicker than traditional mac and cheese - thanks!

Slow Cooker Blackberry Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2013
My family really loved this. I didn't add nearly as much jam as was called for (maybe half a jar) and I had to sub black raspberry as that was all I had on hand but I can't wait to try it with the blackberry. I would say that next time I'm going to try it with a pork loin as opposed to the tenderloin and I think it would be better to cut it when it's almost done and then baste a lot with the juices. The inside was kind of dry. I made the reduction using all the juice in the slow cooker and just added a bit more wine and honey. Thanks for a great recipe!

Bry's Chocolate Lamb Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
I think I'm going to have to use lamb in all of my chili recipes from now on! This was good - very flavorful. The broth was a bit watery and lacked body so I may add a little tomato paste next time. Used one can of kidneys and one can of black beans, rinsed and then added one can of water for liquid. Will definitely make this again.

Lemon Barbeque Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
Made this with turkey. Added A1 to mix and topping because I thought it would add more flavor, I will try it without next time but I still think the meat would need more flavor. I also wouldn't add the water, it made it way too mushy and the little meatloafs were swimming in it so I had to drain several times.

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
This was fabulous! Reduced the sugar, added a little applesauce. Used strawberries and milk chocolate chips with no dried fruit but I think it's infinitely adaptable. Instead of mixing the butter in, I melted about 1/4 c of butter and drizzled it on top of the casserole right before baking. I think this was plenty of butter. Delicious and filling!

Mozzarella-Stuffed Leg of Lamb

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
This has potential. Used feta and added some spinach. The meat needed some flavor so next time I should season it before stuffing. Also, I think it would be better to sear it before putting it in the oven. I did not use the chili sauce.
