The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
This was a great recipe! I prepared the chili on the stove but transferred it to a crockpot for the simmering so I could walk away from it.

Egg Drop Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
This was a great recipe. I forgot the corn starch, and the soup was still delicious. I used vegetarian leek-based broth. My husband, who "hates" egg drop soup, loved it!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
Make sure you use the higher quality brown sugar, as suggested before. I used a store brand because that's what I had, and it was a bit grainy. Otherwise, delicious! Also, use parchment paper in your baking pans to make the popcorn stir easily and makes cleanup much easier.

Honey Baked Chicken I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
My 11 yr old daughter who likes NOTHING but mac and cheese even loved this! She said "Mom, this is good" for the first time ever!!! I cooked it as the recipe said, maybe a little more honey because I eyeballed it. It was simple and sweet. It goes well with a more complicated side dish. I served it with acorn squash with raisins. I will make this often.

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
My family was crazy about this cake! I used buttermilk instead of sour cream (which my daughter won't eat) and it was good, although a bit dry. I also did a little cocoa/powder sugar/milk glaze on top to honor a request from my daughter. It was a nice touch. I think I'll try the brown sugar in the topping next time. The overall chocolate/sugar taste was fabulous.

Tunnel of Fudge Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
I made this cake for my mother's birthday, and it was a huge success! It is a very rich, dense cake... very impressive, unusual, and good for special occasions. The only suggestion I might have is to sift the cocoa and powdered sugar together before mixing with the milk for the glaze. My sugar was a bit clumpy and by the time I realised it, it was already on the cake.

Slow Cooker Vegetable Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
This is a gorgeous looking dinner! My husband loved it, his only suggestion was to cut WAY down on the chili powder (and for him to say it's too hot is unusual.)

Baked Potato Soup I

This was delicious, my husband's favorite from all-recipes, so far! Tasted JUST like a baked potato, funny enough:) It was VERY thick, and I added some italian seasoning for kick. Perfect for a cold day.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
I made this with cream of celery soup, 2 yukon gold potatoes, 3 sliced carrots, 2 celery stalks,a can of grands buttermilk biscuits, and a handful of peas. I thought it was a bit rich, but my husband and picky mother in law loved it. It is super easy and good for a cold day. I will make it again.

White Chocolate Cream Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
The recipe was well written, and it was easier to make than I thought it would be. I enjoyed making the cake, and it was beautiful, however, I was a bit dissappointed in the taste. The cake was very sweet, and the almond flavor overtook the white chocolate. The cake was also very dry. It was a fabulous cake, very fancy and tasted professional. The frosting was lovely, though very sweet and strongly almond flavored, the recipe was generous and I had plenty to frost the cake. Just make sure that you want a dry dense, sweet cake.

Frank's Spicy Alabama Onion Beer Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
I made this for the superbowl and had to copy the recipe for all my guests, they loved it so much! By far, the best chili I've made from all recipes so far. It is good the first day, better the second, and H O T the third. If you do not like a lot of spice, cut back on the peppers!

We really enjoyed this dish. I popped it in the crockpot with some extra potatoes, left it in for about 4 hours on high. It was delicious.

Pumpkin Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
This soup is delicious! I love to make soup, and my husband always greets them with a bit of a groan. This soup put the biggest grin on his face for a very long time. His exact words were "this is so....wierd, but great!" I made this in a vegetarian version, with 3C vegetable broth, no ham, apple cider vinegar, cumin, bay leaf, and red pepper flakes. I served it with a spoon full of sour cream. It smelled like thanksgiving while it was cooking. excellent, and even better the next day!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
I made these with a little less flour and 3 eggs. I cooked them in a bit smaller pan, and cooked for 30 minutes. At the end of that time, they looked beautiful and done, even from the bottom, and seemed firm to the touch in the center, so I didn't test them. Big mistake! They were basically raw, but delicious! Really rich, I will rate them at a 5 because you can tell they will be the BEST brownies in the world when cooked properly. Very easy to make. Just make sure to cook them long enough!!!

Raspberry Cup Cakes

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
This was delicious and refreshing. I made about double the raspberry puree...what I had left after adding it to the mixture didn't seem like enough to drizzle with. I also added a little bit of sugar to the puree. I made a second batch and omitted the raspberry altogether for my daughter. I drizzled a little bit of chocolate syrup on the plain cheescake before I served it, and it was amazing. I'm not sure which I liked better. I also msde these in a mini muffin pan and they were cute...the perfect size for little ones.

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
The first successful, delicious fries I have ever made! I added a generous greek seasoning (prepackaged at the grocery in a yellow container)to these and it added a lot of flavor. Keep your fries thin and your oil hot. Also made incredible onion rings!

French Onion Dip From Scratch

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
Mmmmmm! I used vidalia onions with the garlic and 1/2 block (softened) cream cheese and 1/2 C mayo with the 1C sour cream. The cream cheese gave it a great texture and rich flavor. So easy and so impressive. Everyone at 2 different functions raved about it.
