About this Cook
I'm a 26 year old law student/amateur chef. I've never had any restaurant experience, but if I end up failing out of law school, I'm going to cooking school.
My favorite things to cook
My absolute favorite thing to make is enchiladas with slow-roasted shredded beef. I also love to bake cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I go home to visit, Sunday dinner is still very much an institution, and everyone chips in.
My cooking triumphs
I think the moment I made homemade ravioli (without any machines or presses). Definitely the hardest thing I've ever tried but I did it.
My cooking tragedies
I don't really look at anything that goes wrong in the kitchen a tragedy. It's just something I learn and take with me for when I try that or something similar in the future.

Krystal's Perfect Marinade for BBQ or Grilled Chicken
This is a good start for a marinade, but the sheer amount of sesame oil in this is completely overpowering. It's all I could taste.

Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies
This was a good recipe but I was expecting more of a toffee flavor, which I really didn't get. I'll either add more brickle or I'll chop up heath bars like suggested by other reviewers. I'm also going to try some espresso powder in the mix to see if I can evoke the same flavor as Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch.

Apple Pie Slices
These are super delicious, but I was under the impression that this would be easier than making an actual pie and it wasn't. I still had to make the dough and roll it out. I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to substitute a storebought pie crust, though, if one wanted something slightly simpler.
