Breakfast Kolaches

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
The bread for these was fantastic! Just what I was looking for. I made these into a Texas-style kolache by cookie up some lil' smokies and wrapping the dough around the sausage and a bit of cheddar cheese before baking. The filling popped out of some of the kolaches, but they were super-tasty.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
This is more of a cake frosting than a truffle. They came out much too sweet, and I usually like sweet things. The cream cheese seems like a good idea, but what you you end up with is a ball of chocolate flavored cream cheese frosting. I could barely taste the chocolate over the sugar. Disgusting. Will not make again.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
This came out absolutely perfect! I didn't have 7x3 baking pans, so I used two 9x5 pans instead and baked for about 80 minutes. The bread was tasty and stayed moist. I froze the second loaf for later and it kept beautifully. I will definitely be making this again!

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
This was really fantastic! I tend to like a lot of spice and cheese, so I used extra-spicy salsa and extra cheese. The first time I made it, I also put jalapeno-flavored potato chips on top before baking and it made a tasty crust. This was really great as left-overs as well. I also like to wrap some of this in a tortilla and make a burrito. Very tasty!

Peanut Blossoms II

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
These were tasty and didn't get hard, which it a problem which I have with these cookies usually. However, these lose a star because they were very difficult to work into balls. The dough was much too sticky. I'll be using a different recipe for Peanut Blossoms in the future.

Pad Thai

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
I marinated my chicken in soy sauce and honey before cooking it. I also replaced the bean sprouts with carrots, added mushrooms, and doubled the sauce. This was absolutely delicious! It needed a bit too much alteration to get five stars though.

Everything worked out perfectly with this recipe. My breading was perfect and it was much more tasty than I had expected.

Spinach Enchiladas Verde

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
This was tasty but did NOT look pretty when it came out of the oven. I had to double the sour cream and green salsa too because I didn't feel like I got enough to both fill and top the enchiladas. I would have doubled the cheese too, but I didn't have enough on hand to do that.

Turkey Hash

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
This was really bland. I had to add a lot of stuff to give it good flavour. This was filling, but not too tasty.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
First off, the taste was wonderful. However, I didn't feel that the apples were cooked to my satisfaction so I doubled the cook time to 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, it came out REALLY watery for some reason even though I omitted the water. Must have been the type of apple I used. The topping was really crisp and tasty. I really love that stuff and I felt that there was more than enough without doubling the recipe like some of the reviewers recommend. I'll need to experiment with types of apples next time around. Very good with some cool whip!

Easy Pasta Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
This tastes and smells exactly like a chicken pot-pie. Tasty home food. I cut my chicken into chunks so I could divide it up more easily. I may have used more pasta than the recipe called for. I also added salt, pepper, and some garlic. Otherwise, it would have been very bland. I don't like too much sauce on my food and this came out with just the right amount. My only complaint is that the chicken was a little dry. After reheating though everything was good.

Country Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
It needed more potatoes and colby jack instead of american. I also added about 1/4 cup of mild salsa and some peas while baking. Without the salsa, it would have been much too bland for me. The recipe is a good base, but it needed too much alteration.

Pecan Breaded Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
I had a slight problem with the pecans not sticking as well, but that was probably because they weren't chopped fine enough. There was also some slight burning like the others mentioned. The taste was quite good though!

Noodles Marmaduke

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
Had this for dinner tonight and it was great! Like most of the other reviewers, I omitted the lemon juice. I also put in a few extra noodles. I didn't have any problem with the noodles cooking through and everything turned out perfectly. It tasted just like my Mom's Stroganoff. I'll definately do this one again!
