Five Ingredient Ice Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
It may be personal preference, but I was disappointed. The taste was ok; however, I grew up making homemade ice cream in the old hand-churned makers and this just did not compare. Tasted alot like frozen whipped cream, which probably shouldn't have been a surprise to me since in essence that's what the recipe is. Worth a shot I guess if you don't own an ice cream maker, but if you're a true ice cream lover I suggest just buying one and making the real deal.

Orange Roughy with Citrus Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Very tasty & perfect for dinner guests! It has a great presentation. I used tilapia instead of orange roughy. I also used the juice of half a lemon and 4 or 5 tblsp. of orange juice and the sauce was not too tart at all. Next time I may use PAM instead of oil to fry the fish. Also, I suggest doing the sauce in a separate pan from the fish and have them both going at the same time so that the sauce is ready as soon as the fish is done. This doesn't give the fish a chance to cool down at all or get soggy.

A favorite. My boyfriend can't get enough of this and consistently asks me to make it. Great party food. Thanks!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
True favorite. Instead of refried beans I put pinto beans in the food processor with some hot sauce and just half the packet of taco seasoning to cut down on the fat and salt. Also only used half a container of sour cream so it would be thicker consistency. Very good.

Took this to a Christmas Eve get together and got rave reviews from many. Very good, cream cheese is a must for this type of dip.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
Good taste, just not my taste. I prefer regular chili to this variation. Good for someone looking for a change from the norm though.

Baby BLT

Got this recipe from a friend who made them for a party and have since made it myself a few times. A little time consuming but the result is well worth it. Very very tasty and always a hit.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
Great recipe and very easy to make. I added a can of cream style corn as well as regular corn, as others suggested. I think next time I may even add more. I also used shredded cheddar cheese since I don't usually have velveeta on hand. Very filling, very good for winter nights. It's a keeper.

Nick's Favorite Cherry Pecan Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
This recipe is a keeper! It was very moist and tasty. I used sliced almonds instead of pecans and it turned out great. Next time I might experiment and add some almond extract to give it a little more flavor. Also, I didn't add a glaze on top but that would really be great too. Thanks!

Chicken Biscuit Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
We loved this! It was great comfort food. I added poultry seasoning when I added the salt and pepper; I think it would have been a little bland if had I not done this. I used Bisquick for the biscuits which tasted great. However, like previous reviews, my biscuits failed to cook on the bottom as well. When they were golden on top I just flipped them upside down and cooked for another 5-7 minutes until they were cooked through. That solved the problem and they tasted great. Next time I will probably pre-cook the biscuits for a couple of minutes before I place them on top.

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2006
If you want a delicious & filling stick-to-your-ribs soup, this is the one for you. I halved the recipe, used 3 potatoes, a little less flour than called for, and skim milk. Also, I added some extra milk towards the end to make it a little more soupy and left the potatoes in small chunks. These things combined made for a perfect consistency-- since previous reviews clued me in that it tended to be a bit thick. VERY VERY tasty though...it's got a permanent spot in my collection.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

NOT amazing. Came out very dry and not tasty at all. Was hoping for a hearty home-cooked meal, but instead was very disappointing.
