About this Cook
Wife, mom of 3, taxi driver, snowboarder, reader, #1 fan at kids games, computer-aholic, wine-aholic, laundress, workout fiend, crossword puzzle nut (cruciverbalist for you purists out there), consultant, trainer, friend.
My favorite things to cook
Things that are bad for you, because they always taste so good and are forbidden. Like rotel dip with sausage. Chicken wings. Fried pork chops. But I usually make things like roast, roast chicken, steak.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is an awful cook so any traditions have to start here. I'm a decent cook. My family will not eat gooey or soupy things. My kids grew up with a lean and a green and that's the only thing they'll eat. It must be meat with sides, no potatoes. Love rice.
My cooking triumphs
Um, coming up with something different 7 nights a week.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm, there's a few, actually. A pineapple upside down cake that was gross. A lemon-lime risotto that was horrid.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I think the apples I used were too tart. Next time will try Jonagold. May need to cook longer as others have stated; it wasn't quite thick enough.

Quick Chick!
I wasn't crazy about this, thought it was a little bland.

Quick and Easy Grilled Potatoes
These were surprisingly good. My husband and I were sort of shocked at how good these were, actually. No extra seasoning or butter needed; a healthy way to eat baked potatoes. The grill lends a yummy smoky flavor.
