French Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2013
I made this wonderful bread this morning for lunch. It was excellent and picture perfect. I sprinkled sesame seeds on the top of each loaf. Beautiful to look at and heavenly to eat. The work time was minimal and it took the normal time to rise. This goes into my "winner" file.

Authentic Mexican Chili Rellenos

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2013
I followed the recipe and the results were great. This is truly a delicious dish. However, I must have done something wrong because the batter didn't stick to the peppers. I dipped them in the flour mix, then the frothy egg mix, then the flour again. The oil was the correct temp. What did I do wrong? Help me out, please.

Nan's Potato and Egg Frittata

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2013
This was like the fritata I found in so many of the restaurants we found as we toured Spain. Simple and delicious are the adjectives for this basic dish.

Peanut Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
This was a real winner with the family. I added an extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter and put the ground peanuts right into the soup. It was perfect. I served croutons with it for those who wanted a bit of extra crunch. I love this website. It is my favorite for recipes.

Fruity Sweet and Sour Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
I didn't have any Maraschino cherries so I used a cuplet of sugarfree cherry jello. It worked just fine. I used Splenda instead of sugar. I am diabetic. I took the tip from others and used 1/4 cup of ketchup. The sauce is perfect. This is by far the best sweet and sour sauce that I have ever made. My thanks to Miss Sparkle. Johnny

Basic Curry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
I just finished making this blend. It tastes delicious. I wanted a curry for my pork, rice, and broccoli. This will work. I might add that I used Badia's curry powder in stead of making the spice mix from scratch. I compared the ingredients with the spice list. It was almost identical. It seems that many folks think curry is a spice and not a blend of spices. If you want to make adjustments to the spices you can do it from scratch but I am a lazy cook so I use the curry powder. If you like curry you'll love this blend.
