The first freeze of the season withered the leaves of all the summer garden's veggies last night. I'm not too sad about it because our fall garden's thriving and, frankly, I'm sick of picking beans, okra and tomatoes. Time to move on...I'm ready for cool/cold weather (you can take the girl out…
I come from a family of incredible cooks. My grandma cooked professionally all of her life. My mom and her four sisters have the gift, too. I'm a self-employed landscaper who hopes one day soon to turn my love of cooking into a professional enterprise.
My favorite things to cook
I love "ethnic" cuisine, especially Thai, Greek, Vietnamese, Indian. I enjoy making hearty roasts and soups in the winter and using my organic, homegrown veggies in the summer in all kinds of dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies with my daughter.
My cooking triumphs
Making a picture-perfect Buche de Noel, Christmas 1998; catering the desserts for a downtown jazz/coffee night -- it was a success, and all the desserts were vegan.
My cooking tragedies
Meatloaf...I can't seem to make a decent one. Now, that's a tragedy!
