Sushi Roll
I am flabbergasted by all of the positive reviews for this recipe. The proportions are way, WAY off. Look at any other recipe for sushi rice and you will see. This recipe has WAY too much vinegar and WAY too much sugar for the amount of rice used. The end result is a sloppy, wet, sugary mess that doesn't hold together. Also, most other recipes call for heating the sugar/vinegar/salt combination together to blend them, and also for letting the rice rest to absorb the last amount of liquid. This was just awful. I can only assume that everyone else who made this recipe simply ignored all of the errors and did their own thing. This was a disaster.

These cookies ROCK. They are perfect- simple as can be and yet truly impressive, both visually and flavor-wise. I've tried this any number of ways, I love blackberry jam as well as raspberry jam. I took another reviewers advice and used a small measuring spoon to both indent the cookies and then fill the spaces. For this version I usually add a dash of both almond and vanilla extracts. I also made a batch for Christmas using brown sugar instead of white and Nutella instead of fruit- A+++!! Give it a try!

Spinach Quiche
Oh my. First of all I will say that I should have read the "reduce the butter" reviews prior to making this. So my heart is not thanking me right now, but my tummy is soooo happy. :) The bf was quite wary of the intense amount of spinach in this, but it is just so dang tasty that he didn't mind at all, and even said that the flavors balance out so well that it's delicious. I left out the mushrooms (don't like them) and used regular feta, couldn't find a deep-dish crust so some of my egg got left out, but it is PERFECT. Oh my. I'm going to have some for lunch, like, right now :)
