Candied Jalapenos

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
After making this, and living with it in my fridge for a month, I wonder how I ever lived without this staple? It goes on/in everything! I put these in sandwiches, on crackers, toss a few in a bowl when I eat popcorn... What did I ever do without candied jalapenos in my life?

Yogurt Chicken

I really liked this chicken. I added a good half cup of parmesean to the bread crumb mixture, and was so glad I did!

Baked Tofu Bites

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
I liked this. I did not take it out of the oven as quickly as the recipe indicated, because it just looked spongy still and I wanted a firmer texture. It ended up staying "in" for a good hour all together, with me turning it over every 15 minutes or so. Pefect little snacky bites...

Applesauce Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
I halved this recipe and baked into five cupcakes. No nuts, raisins or cloves in the cupboard, so they were plain. Baked at 350 for 22 minutes. They were great! Will do again.

West African-Style Chicken and Fennel Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
I was giving this three stars when I first tasted it, but by the end of my bowl, I was in love! I made it exactly as written. The flavors grow in your mouth, although I would not call it spicy, it is FULL of flavor.

Spicy African Yam Soup

I made this as written, and like the flavors. I would not call it spicy, and I am adding salt in my bowl.

Just made these. They are soft, just as described. Super tasty, super easy. I will make them again just as written.

Chewy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
The chewy-ness is PERFECT. The ladies and I decided, however that they could be more chocolatey. Next time we will be doubling the cocoa, and I will let you know how that is.

Black Bean Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
Unfortunately the claim that these "do not taste beanie" is incorrect. They are plenty chocolatey, and we ate about half of them - but it took us a week, because while they look good, they just do not satisfy a brownie craving. The texture is fine I guess, but in your mouth - they taste like someone put beans in your brownies. It is just not right.

Banana Tortilla Snacks

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
This was so good! I didn't have honey or raisins, but I spread the peanutbutter and wrapped my banana up. Then I dipped it in a little maple syrup as I ate it. Fantastic - and a bit more food than I bargained for! I am full!

Curried Lentils

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
I really liked this. I am on the spicy team - so I put in the curry paste slowly as recommended by the reviews and found I wanted the whole Tablespoon. I used a red curry paste I like, and am excited to try it next time with a green one. It is great. It is easy - and I topped mine with a dollop of plain yogurt to eat.

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
I must begin this review by clearly stating that I am a HUGE dairy fan and have never in my life encountered a recipe that had too much cheese. That said, this recipe is overwhelmed by a gluttony of cheese . I love each of the flavors - but it was overkill. So sad.

On the Go Casserole

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
We really liked this. I had no sausage, so I substituted ground beef with taco seasoning as another review suggested and went a step further to substitute salsa for the stewed tomatoes. It was fantastic! The green olives are something I would not have thought of with a taco flavor - but it all made friends together in the oven. Happy mouths.

Scalloped Cabbage with Fennel and Cranberries

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This was too sweet. Way, way too sweet. I liked the flavors, but we just never did eat much of it. I gotta say - in our house - food is never thrown out. It was weird. I think that if I try this again, I would use chicken broth instead of the juice and instead of dried cranberries I would use fresh (or the fresh frozen I keep in the fridge.) Like I say - the fennel, cabbage, turkey, cran flavors win - lets just not douse them in so much sugar, all right?

Lebanese-Style Tabouli

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
WE used this as a base and made one with all of the ingrediants except the cinamon and the bulgar. We used quinoa. We love the texture so much better than the bulgar wheat - and we can serve it to our friends who are not able to eat wheat. Thanks!

Firecracker Chili Powder

We like this! It made the last of the chili powder that we had go farther. Also - it tasted great and we thought the nutmeg was ingenious! Thanks.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
My husband asked for home made granola yesterday and I had never made it before. I made this and we are so happy with it! I added some nutmeg and used all almonds and walnuts instead of the sunflower seeds and pecans. I will make this over and over! Thanks!
