Slow Cooker Pernil Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
I have made this recipe twice since finding it in the late fall. This is fantastic. I have tried it with pork chops and the suggested pork roast. Both ways come out perfect. Note: reduce the cooking time slightly for the pork chops.

Garlic Cheese Grits with Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
This was fantastic. I used the chicken broth as recommended by so many in the grits. I have never made grits before this recipe, but everything came out perfectly. My family was impressed. Great recipe. I'll be making this many times in the future.

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
This came out perfect. There were two pieces of advice that I believe helped this be the best prime rib ever. 1) make a paste out of the salt. This created a nice crust that just broke away from the beef so easily. 2) watch the internal temp. Ignore the time and just watch the temp. This beef came out perfect. Thanks for the recipe.

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Great and so easy. I did slightly cook the biscuit dough before filling the cups. I had no problems with overflow. The only change I made was that I layered the cheese and sausage mixture on top of the biscuit prior to adding the egg mixture. After adding the egg mixture, with a fork I lightly incorporated the mixture with the sausage and cheese. My kids (and adults) loved them.

Prosciutto and Parmesan Pinwheels

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
These were very good. I made them for a party along with the Spinach-Cheese Swirls from this site. I too omitted the mustard and substituted olive oil, garlic powder and fresh ground pepper. Everyone loved them. A great tip that worked for me was to refrigerate the uncut roll for about 15 minutes. This gave the dough time to rest and made cutting very easy. Also, I think it helped with the unraveling problem that others seemed to have. Thanks for the recipe.

Spinach-Cheese Swirls

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
An absolute crowd pleaser. I used mozarella because I had it on hand. I also added a little red pepper flakes which added just enough kick...but not too much. One note, after making the jelly roll, let it set in the fridge to cool ~ 15-20 minutes. It lets the pastry rest from being handled, it makes it much easier to cut the rounds and the rounds do not unravel as they cook.

Grilled Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
OK...like others I was a bit skeptical of both the ingredient combination and the cooking method. But boy was it worth the risk of trying this recipe. My 9 yr old son and my husband are big wing fans. They both loved them. Between the 2, they ate all by 9 wings! I did add a few drops of habernaro sauce because a few reviewers stated the sauce wasn't that spicy. Our's had the right amount of heat. Thanks for the recipe.

Perfect stromboli. I used Black Bear Rosemary Ham with pepperoni, hard salami and a little extra cheese. It was a hit! This recipe is a keeper! Thanks.

This was exceptional! My family and friends could not get enough. It was so easy to make, there is no way I'll be paying 2.50 for one cookie at Starbucks any longer! Followed it to the letter.

Smushed Apples and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
This was great! I tried it for the first time for Thanksgiving and for the first time ever, the sweet potato dish was emptied! I used Rome apples because I new that they would cook down well and be much easier to blend in. Substituted Splenda as well. Everything came out great!
