Holiday Brie en Croute

delicious! I did it a little different, using fig preserves instead of apricot or raspberry and i left out the cranberries. It was an amazing pairing with champagne for new years! And very easy to make!

Peppermint Meringues

These are fantastic! Not to mention easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly. I did use parchment paper instead of foil and the cookies popped right off. I also used an icing bag and tip and piped the cookies out instead of spooning them out. I will definitely be making these again in the future.

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Only change i made was what another reviewer suggested, i replaced the lemon extract with 1 tbsp lemon zest and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Everyone loved them!

Gingerbread Men

i doubled the recipe and it was wonderful! It made sturdy walls for our gingerbread house and it also made great cookies. I had to play with the time depending on the pieces, but it was a great recipe! they tasted delicious!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

this is the second time i've roasted pumpkin seeds... the first time i would just as soon like to forget... this was much more successful! They turned out yummy! i essentially doubled everything but the Worcestershire sauce and used 2 1/2 cups of seeds. I backed at 300 for 1 hour and 6 minutes. And they were crisp, though a tab too salty for my taste. i'll be tweaking the recipe on the next batch (which will be today since we carved 10 pumpkins...)

Nectarine Pie

This is delicious! I followed the advice of some of the reviewers and doubled the cinnamon, added the 1/8 tsp ground ginger and 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. I also made a crumble crust with 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and 1/4 butter. i topped the pie off with some whipped cream made of heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar. it was one of the best pies i've ever had! my roommate licked her plate she liked it so much.

Apple Cranberry Tart

This is amazing. It is hands down my favorite recipe found on this site to date. I didn't use the butter and i made two in much smaller tart pans. I also took one reviewers advice and did 3 cups of cranberries and 3 apples. Worked amazingly! It was more than halfway eaten only minutes after i pulled it from the oven.

Classic Vichyssoise

This did not turn out AT ALL. i changed the chicken stock to vegetable stock since i was serving vegetarians... but it shouldn't have made that big of a difference.... It tasted alright, but nothing at all what i was expecting or imagine it is supposed to taste like. And it was certainly the wrong color all together...

Napoleon Cremes

i loved the idea of these, but i chose to change a few things. Instead of the pudding inside, since i'm not a fan, i used 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese, 1 cup confectioners' sugar, and 1 small tub of cool whip. I mixed those three things together and used that in the middle instead of the pudding mixture. Other than that, the top and bottom were both delightful, and my little change went very well with them.
