Calico Beans

Made this for the 4th of July! So far today (the next day), I have had 3 people email me for the recipe! It is great! I used a combo of butter beans, great northern beans, pork and beans and light kidney beans. Next time I would probably use black beans instead of the butter beans for a little more visual contrast. I also added a little splash of liquid smoke to give them a more smokey taste. I cooked them uncovered and really enjoyed the "crust" that formed on top. This recipe is a definite keeper! Thank you!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

This is wonderful and so easy! I made it for a potluck recently and it went over very well! I followed other reviewers lead and made the following changes: I used Texas toast (frozen, so I toasted it first, spread on the cream cheese mixture and then cut the slices into cubes), used thawed pre-made meatballs and omitted the water altogether. It was perfect! The bread didn't become too soggy and it really tasted liked you were eating a meatball sub! We will definitely make this again!

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

This is a wonderful recipe -- it would be PERFECT without the added water. I made the mistake of not reading the other reviews before I made it and though the flavor was great, the extra water was not needed at all and it was too runny for my tastes. I will definitely make it again, but will not add any of the water. Great flavor, though and watch out, it does make a lot. I am enjoying the leftovers today for lunch -- yum!

Arrabbiata Sauce

I loved this sauce -- tastes like it was cooked all day long. Turns out fairly chunky. I did add a little salt and some more sugar (maybe 1 TB. more). Delicious! I served it with stuffed cheese shells and it was a hit. Next time I might cut back on the red pepper if this were for guests, but for my husband and myself, it was perfect!

Caramel Peanut Fudge

Wow! This was wonderful! I skipped the caramel and cream step and just used a jar of thick caramel topping and it worked out great. This recipe was delicious and really does taste like Snikers, which really surprised me! I'll be making this again and again for Christmas!

October Apple Pie

This was disappointing after the great reviews. I cooked it for 15 minutes longer than the recipe stated, but the apples still weren't done all the way (I did slice them thinly, too). The caramel sauce, too, was very runny, even though I let the pie set up for 4 hours before serving it. Oh well. The taste was good, even if it was a mess! :)

Taste of Home Butterfinger Cookies

This is a wonderful cookie recipe! It turns out great every time! Be sure to chop the butterfingers well. I've used creamy peanut butter and it turns out fine, too. Also, I use all butter flavored Crisco for nice chewey cookies.
