Super Easy Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
I'm not really sure what I did wrong here. The flavor was good and it is definitely an easy mousse recipe, well if it works out its easy. When I added the chocolate pudding, it hardened the minute I added it into the cream. When I tried to mix it in as gently as I could it thickened up way to quickly and ended up looking a mess and not all of the pudding mixed in so it left little specks of dry pudding mix. I whipped some extra cream and folded that in to try and lighten it up. Could have been my pudding, maybe it was old or something? The flavor was nice but the texture was just off. I think it would be better to mix 1/2 cup of the cream with the pudding and whisk that together before trying to add it into the slightly thickened cream. Served it with sliced bananas and whipped cream on top. The family liked it.

Vegetarian Tortilla Dog

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
Quick and tasty. I microwaved the hot dogs but instead of microwaving the tortilla I tossed the butter into a frying pan and toasted them on the stove. Easy lunch. I did not use a vegetarian hot dog.

Chocolate Egg Cream

I thought this was pretty good. I didn't really measure the ingredients. My daughter really liked this but my son wasn't a fan. I would make this again.

Cheezy Cheezy

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
This is okay. I did stir in some butter and salt into the cooked noodles before adding the cheese. I Think it would be good with leftover pasta if you just needed something quick. Definitely needs seasoning other than just cheese.

Authentic New Orleans Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2013
Oh yeah this is tasty. I used andouille sausage. I used 1 1/2 pounds of beans and 2 ham hocks but the original amount of sausage. Great flavor with the right amount of kick to it. Served with cornbread.

Bacon Chili Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
This was very good. I did have to change a few things. I didn't have any ancho chili powder so I used a little bit of adobo sauce in the meatloaf and the topping. The amounts are right on and I didn't have to add any extra liquids or dry ingredients. My family wasn't thrilled with the glaze but we just scraped that part off. This makes awesome meatloaf sandwiches :) And it tastes so very much better the next day. Not that it isn't good at first, just better after it sits overnight. Thanks for the recipe :)

Amazing Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
This was pretty good. I halved the recipe and baked it in a loaf pan. When making this recipe I would put some of the pecans on the bottom of the pan before putting in the frozen rolls.

Very good. I used French bread and sliced them thick. Easy and quick to make. I did drizzle caramel sauce over the french toast instead of dipping.

Red Bowl Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
The flavor is great. I didn't really read the recipe very well when I decided to make this so I missed that you were supposed to add water to the sauce. This isn't something I like to do because I can't stand watery sauce. I went ahead with the water this time. Ended up adding 3 T tomato paste to the sauce hoping it would thicken it up. I would make this again but sub tomato sauce for the water. Sprinkled with some grated parm and served with Garlic bread.

Yum! I skipped the frying part, just brushed with a little bit of melted butter and baked until the skin got crispy then filled them.

I really enjoyed this. My husband and kids weren't thrilled with it but I'm not really counting their opinion on this one. I did use almonds instead of pine nuts.

Coffee Slush

Tasty. Very easy to make. I cut the recipe down for just me and hubby. And instead of sugar I used chocolate syrup. Also used more coffee than called for. I wanted a stronger coffee flavor.
