Slow Cooker Moscow Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
Very good recipe for chicken. Hubby took one bite and said "Yum". High praise from him! ;) I had made bacon for breakfast so I used the bacon grease to brown the chicken in. I did use bone in skin on thighs. Instead of wrapping the chicken I just placed bacon on top of the thighs. Also used homemade Russian dressing. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with the green onions so I decided to just top the chicken with them as garnish. Unfortunately it was a crazy night and I completely forgot to do it!! Ah well next time. Served with rice. I will definitely be making this again.*****Made this again and remembered the green onions. They really add and extra kick. I just sprinkled them on the finished chicken.

Seriously delicious! I used Pumpkin Yeast Bread from this site to make this. It's definitely worth the extra effort. I left out the walnuts. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe!

Pumpkin Yeast Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
Yummy Bread!! I doubled the recipe and I am so glad that I did. No it is not a very "pumpkiny" bread but it does have a slight pumpkin flavor to it. The spices are very mellow. I do not have a bread machine so I made this by hand. Subbing milk for the milk powder and cutting down the water in the recipe by 1/2 cup. My family really loved this bread. I also used this to make Pumpkin Pie French toast (AR). Will definitely be making this agina.

Creamy Chicken, Bacon and Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
As is this is very bland not very good at all. When it was done cooking I knew my family wouldn't be happy. Luckily the grocery store this week had the Philadelphia cooking cream for free this week so I had one of those on hand I added the whole container of that into the mix and thinned it out with a little half and half. I also doubled the bacon and used sea shell pasta as that is what I had on hand.

Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
As is this is very sweet and not very peanut buttery. After tasting it when it was first done I wasn't happy with it so I added about a cup more of PB and 1/4 c extra butter. And cream as needed. It was better then. I used it to frost brownies. Thanks.

Overnight Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
These were good. They had a slightly different flavor than regular pancakes. I loved that you could make this the night before and wake up to batter ready to go. I did use butter in place of the oil and I only had 3 eggs so I used 3/4 c of egg whites as well. Also I added extra sugar and vanilla. Thanks for the recipe!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

This was very good. I've never made a Lemon Meringue Pie so I was a little nervous but it was easy and delicious! I doubled the filling since I was using a deep dish pie crust and didn't want to be short on the lemon filling. Thanks for the recipe!

Festival Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
This was tasty. I used thighs instead of a whole chicken since that is what I had on hand. I only used 1/2 a pack of the onion soup mix and kind of wished I would have just left it out. Threw the flavor off for me, but I really enjoyed the dressing with the preserves in it. Will probably make this again minus the onion soup mix. Maybe just some thin sliced onions would be better. Thanks for the recipe!

Jelly-Filled Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Recipe Group*****Well I hate to be the odd one out here but I did not like these muffins. They were dry and just not very good. But I think it must just be me since my kids and my husband enjoyed them. I used Black Raspberry Jam for the jelly. They baked up really pretty though. I only had to bake them for 15 minutes at 400.

Chocolate Mousse Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
Yummy. This was really good. Kind of a cross between a brownie and the inside of a truffle. Rich chocolaty goodness. I did use coffee instead of water, it didn't give it a coffee flavor just enhanced the chocolate. Just a little tip before you just dump the eggs into the hot chocolate mix take a little of the chocolate and beat it into the eggs to bring up the temp of the eggs so they don't scramble on you. I used a gravy ladle to add about 1/2 cup of the chocolate into the eggs. I topped with whipped cream and a berry sauce. Will definitely make this again.

This was tasty and very quick to make. Not much fuss, perfect for a busy night or like for me tonight a lazy night :) I did use ground ginger instead of fresh since when I was at the store the fresh ginger looked very very sad. Worked fine. Thanks for the recipe.

Smothered Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
Very good very easy. I'm not sure what browning sauce is so I didn't use it. I browned the chops in a little butter took them out then added the onion and garlic and cooked them a bit then added the flour and cooked it a little bit until it was brown then I added the chicken broth and water added the chops back in and simmered until cooked through. They came out tender an juicy. Served with mashed potatoes. Yum!
