Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
Yummy! These were fabulous. My daughter wanted to make some "teeny" things and I had some pumpkin I wanted to use so we picked this recipe. They taste great the same day but the taste better the next day. Thanks for the recipe.

Caroline's Firecrackers

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
My daughter loved these. I didn't try them because I'm not a fan of hot Cheetos. But DD gives them 5 stars! I did kind of mess up the recipe. My bag of Cheetos was 9.75 oz and the vanilla bark was 12 oz. So I couldn't get them to stick together enough to cut. Didn't affect the flavor, but I really need to start looking at sizes when I'm shopping!

Indiana Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
This was tasty. I did make a few changes. I baked my potatoes instead of boiling them. Also left the skin on them when I cubed them after baking. I didn't have any processed cheese so I used cheddar which was fantastic. Also added some freeze dried chives. Thanks for the recipe the family loved it.

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I've been making this sauce for a couple years, not sure why I haven't reviewed it before. This sauce is great. I do change it just a bit. I use wine for the water, fresh basil and kind of eyeball the seasonings. I also usually leave out the meat, I love making this with Meatball Nirvana (also on this site). Yummy!

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Surprisingly delicious. I've never made a haystack of any kind before but these are pretty good. The kids enjoyed these as well. I did use regular peanut butter.

Pepperoni Penne

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
Very good. I did have to change the recipe a little bit. I was running late with dinner and needed something quick. This was perfect. I used garden rotini pasta, canned tomatoes, onion instead of shallots and added some green pepper and spinach. Yummy. Thanks for the recipe.

Willard Family German Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
Fabulous! This was my first attempt at a German Chocolate cake, I kind of expected it to be a little more complicated but this was easy. I had to use the milk and vinegar substitute for the buttermilk because I forgot to bring my list to the store and of course forgot the buttermilk :( It worked fine. I used butter in both the cake and the frosting since I never have margarine. I also made some chocolate frosting for the sides of the cake, I didn't have enough of the coconut frosting but I think that is because I'm a little heavy handed with frosting. My family was sad when this cake was gone and there was a fight over the last piece ( I won! ) Thanks for the great recipe, its a keeper.

Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
I loved the flavor of the chicken and the potatoes. I skipped the stuffing and just went with the potatoes. I had to add a can of chicken broth to the bottom of the pan because the juice was just evaporating. I'll use this recipe again. Thanks!

King Ranch Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
I thought this was to soupy and I wasn't real thrilled with the flavor but my hubby and my 2 boys devoured the casserole so I guess I'm in the minority here. Topped with lettuce and sour cream. Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
Very good and very easy to put together on a busy day. I followed the recipe and just put the sausage in the slow cooker raw, I didn't have a problem with my sauce getting greasy. I think it really depends on what brand of sausage you use. I used my grocery stores sausage that they make in house. Also added some garlic and Italian seasoning. Tasty. Thanks for the recipe.

Oatmeal Pie II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
This was really good. I wouldn't say it was just like a pecan pie but it is very close. I had to sub brown sugar for the white since I was out. Also added 2 t of vanilla. Oh and I used Old Fashioned oats since that is what I always buy. This was really quick to put together. Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
This was pretty good. I did brown the chicken, I thought I had a can of pineapple tidbits but it was just slices and only 8oz. I used the juice that I could from that then just cut the pineapple up later. Could have used more of the pineapple juice but that's my fault. I do think next time I would only use the juice and not the pineapple. My family didn't like biting into hot pineapple. Served over rice. Thanks for the recipe!

Very good. The caramel sauce really made the cake. I did cook the sauce a little longer and added a little bit of cream to it. Thanks to the recipe!

Pumpkin Pot De Creme

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Very good. I baked mine about 45 minutes turned the oven off and let them set in there for about 15 minutes then removed them from the oven. Loved the toasted pecans and maple on top. If I made this again I think I would whip up a little bit of whipped cream for the top as well. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Northern White Bean Bacon Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
This was yummy! I used a pound of beans so I doubled the veggies except for the potato. Skipped the Italian seasoning and used a Cajun blend instead. When it was done cooking I pureed it in the pot using an immersion blender. I didn't measure the milk just poured it in until it was the consistency I wanted. It tasted a little flat at first so I added a few dashes of tobasco sauce, still wasn't right. Ended up adding 2 T of chopped cilantro to brighten it up. Then it was really good! Thanks for the recipe!

Banana, Chocolate, and Almond Breakfast Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
I enjoyed this. I've been trying to eat breakfast more often and I'm a fan of the hot cereal. Was looking for a new idea when I came across this one. Mmm chocolate and bananas in oatmeal? Fantastic idea. I used old fashioned oat because that is what I prefer and made mine a little thicker since I like to pour a little cold cream over my hot oatmeal, real healthy right? I will make this again! Thanks for the recipe Lissa!

Pesto Chicken Penne Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Mmmm yummy :) This was very good. And easy. I did change it a little bit because I misread the ingredient amounts and didn't write a list before I went shopping (oops). So I used 1 4 oz jar of pesto, 2 jars of Alfredo sauce, 3 large chicken breasts, only 2 cups Italian cheese, and added some garlic. I also used fresh diced tomatoes. This made a ton of food! I used my deepest 9x13 dish and it almost didn't fit in that! Then at the very end of putting this together I realized I forgot the milk :O So I just poured about 1/2 cup over the top and added a little more of the Parm/bread crumbs. Family loved it and fought over leftovers for lunch. Very forgiving recipe, I know I completely messed it up but it was fantastic. Will make again, maybe using sun-dried tomato pesto, doesn't that sound fantastic? Thanks for the recipe linda.
