I've always been a fan of Johnsonville sausage. Mostly in the past I used the Italian sausage in spaghetti, sometimes for subs, and on occasion to boost the flavor in a meatball. Mostly spaghetti. I've tried the generic brands. They don't measure up to the
flavor of Johnsonville. So they have been my favorite for a long time. Back in March when the Allrecipes Brand Ambassadors worked with Johnsonville I tried putting Italian sausage in Shepherds Pie. Ever since then I always use Italian sausage when I make Shepherds
Pie. Yummy, talk about a boost of flavor!
This month we worked with Johnsonville again. And I found three new recipes that will be going into our Family Favorites file. First one up and quite possibly my favorite although it is difficult to pick one is...
Johnsonville Italian Sausage Sliders. These little guys pack a punch in the flavor department. And really don't take long to cook at all. I had dinner
on the table in about 40 minutes. And that was with me talking on the phone and being distracted with homework. Pretty good for a quick weeknight meal. And bonus my husband loved these!
I also tried the
Morning Terrace Pizza. Honestly I never thought of using Italian Sausage in a breakfast dish. Italian Sausage and eggs? Hmmm I was intrigued. So I made it for me and the kids for breakfast one morning during fall break. You know what? Italian sausage definitely
goes with eggs. Yum!
And last but definitely not least...MVP Chili. I made this for dinner tonight. It was fabulous. I had to triple the recipe, my teen boys can really eat a lot of food. And I
was hoping to have some leftovers for tomorrows dinner. I don't quite have enough left for dinner but maybe lunch! I changed the recipe just a bit. I used 2 lbs of Johnsonville Italian Sausage and one of ground beef. And I left out the corn. Tasty and another
hit with the family.
So if you are looking for a way to give a twist to an old family favorite or looking for some new ideas for Italian Sausage give Johnsonville a try. Fabulous. There are a ton of recipes right here on
Allrecipes and if thats not enough for you head on over to
Johnsonville for more recipes and a list of all their products!
