I’ve always been an over-protective mom. I do a pretty good job of fighting all those over-protective feelings, most of the time. When my kids were little I would have loved to put them in pads and a helmet to keep them from getting hurt. Of course when the time came to actually put them in… MORE

Ah Marguaritas :) We aren’t big drinkers around here. Mostly on occasion my husband and I will have a glass of wine. Ok mostly I’ll have a glass of wine. :D But this month Sauza Blue Silver Tequila was the sponsor for the Allrecipes Allstar program. I made three recipes and each was… MORE

There is something about chicken frying on the stove that just says Sunday afternoon to me. The bubble and pop just sounds homey to me. I made 2 recipes this past Sunday. Tracie's Savory Fried Chicken  CindyD'sSomewhat Southern Fried ChickenI don’t make it very often because it is a lot of… MORE

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Even as a child it managed to squeak past Christmas on my favorite list. Why? Well because of the simplicity of the holiday. Good food, Family, Friends and being grateful for the blessings in your life. It just didn't get any better. Not to say… MORE

It seems like ever since school started this year we have been running non-stop. With both of my boys in football this year, and my daughter going overboard with the clubs and extracurricular activities there doesn’t seem to be much time left for just relaxing and enjoying each other. Between… MORE

A few months ago when I got an email being invited to the Allrecipes 15th Anniversary I was so excited! To get the chance to visit Allrecipes.com in person was such an exciting idea and something I had never considered that I might be able to do. I'm so grateful that I was able to go and meet… MORE

It all started with an essay assignment. In Jan. 2000 I was taking an English course in College and I had been assigned to try something “new”. With an 18 month old and a 2 month old at home plus babysitting for my nieces, college classes, and dealing with some family issues the idea of trying… MORE

I’m a butter fanatic. I admit it. And to be honest I’m proud of being a fanatic! It’s just fabulous isn’t it?   I haven’t always been this way though. Growing up we rarely ever had real butter. We used margarine in everything. Probably because it was cheap. Really, really cheap. Occasionally we… MORE

About Me
I am a stay at home mom with three beautiful kids. I love cooking and I am always looking for something new to cook for my family. My husband was thrilled when I found this website cause I have a tendancy to buy any cookbook I see!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons because I can always have something in the oven. I also love crockpot dinners as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday cooking is the best. I love cooking the dessert my grandmother taught me how to make when I turned 14. Every year at Christmas and Thanksgiving I can hear her telling me what to do and how to do it, I can also feel her smack when I stirred the wrong way! Hehe.
My cooking triumphs
I have always been afraid of frying foods after a couple disastrous attempts at it when I was younger, my fingers always seemed to go into the oil, I have finally started trying frying foods. I am just a lot more cautious. Now I am trying to figure out muffins and pies, and different types of deserts. I think I have finally figured out cheesecake (yay!me).
My cooking tragedies
One Thanksgiving I was making Ham in the Slow Cooker. About an hour before we were supposed to eat my son asks "Mom did you want the Crockpot plugged in?" Whoops! We had a bunch of yummy sides though :) Now every time I make something in the slow cooker my family asks if I plugged it in :)
