I'm easy-going and consider myself to be a real people person who loves to laugh and have lots of silly fun. I love, LOVE music and going to concerts/live performances. To me, music is the food for my soul, but I also love to cook and bake for my family and friends. It gives me great pleasure to see them enjoy and appreciate the things I've made for them. :)
My favorite things to cook
I'm an old soul when it comes to cooking and baking. The recipes I tend to gravitate toward and prepare are; old-fashioned comfort-type foods - reminiscent of the way my mom and grandmother used to cook. :)

Garlicky Beet Delight
This was fantastic! I doubled the garlic as all of us are garlic lovers. Once prepared, I let the beets sit for a couple of hours in the fridge to allow the flavours to fully meld together. Not only is this a great side dish to the rest of your meal, but wonderful when added to salads as well. Sooo flavourful! Thanks for the recipe!

Pumpkin Bread IV
My whole family loved this pumpkin loaf! Although, I took a few suggestions from others here and altered a few ingredients. I added 2 cups of brown sugar in lieu of just using white. I also replaced 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce and only used 1 cup of oil instead of the 1 1/2 cups. Lastly, I added 2 tsp of vanilla and only 1 tsp of the ground cloves. The loaves turned out great! Oh... I did have to alter my baking time also. It ended up taking an hour and 15 minutes for the loaves to bake fully. I am not sure if that was due to me changing the amount of oil and adding the applesauce or if it was because I used shiny metal pans instead of the dark non stick kind. But whatever the case, the loaves turned out moist and so flavourful! This recipe is definitely a keeper! Thanks! :)

Nancy's Pumpkin Butter
I was disappointed by this recipe. I was expecting a more flavourful and sweeter "honey butter" type spread but this didn't seem to have much of a taste at all unfortunately.
