Baked Teriyaki Chicken
Terrific sauce! I dissolved the cornstarch in the cold water first and once it was gloppy i added 3 TBSP of orange juice. I used 1/2 a cup of brown sugar and 1/2 a cup of white sugar, i substituted rice vinegar for the apple cider vinegar. double the amount of garlic, used dark soy sauce instead of regular soy sauce. And a splash of lemon juice. Instead of baking the chicken breast, I dry rubbed it with a little seasoning, chopped into chunks and then I sauteed it on a griddle with seasame seeds and and green onions basting the chicken with the sauce about every 5 minutes until it carmelized. served over authentic chinese rice with stir fried broccoli, water chestnuts, bean sprouts peppers, and mushrooms. My boyfriend loved it and so did the baby, she started kicking all over the place. Way better than any teriyaki i've had, esp. since I usually pay $10 at the one in the mall since they were always my favorite.
