Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2014
I found this recipe because I was out of eggs and wanted choc. chip cookies. I added white sugar to the mixture, well, because it seemed like I should. So, these had the general choc. chip cookie taste, but it just didnt seem right. Wont make again.

Banh Mi

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2014
I liked the ratio for marinating the veggies, and the instructions were easy to follow. My tweaks are that I used spicy sausage instead of chicken, and I also used a mixture of mayo and sriracha sauce on the buns that I toasted. I filled it with cilantro for a nice fresh spicy taste, my husband and I lOVE this sandwich!

Blueberry Crumble Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
This was pretty easy to make and tasted great! I ended up mixing the dry ingredients with melted butter instead of chunks of buter in to a moist consistency and spread it on the bottom of the pan and over the blueberries. It turned out fine :)

Best Brownies

Loved it! Used Ghirardelli cocoa powder, so delicious. Never making boxed brownies again! Did not make the frosting and they were perfectly good without it!

Left out the lemon peel. Cooked it in the pan the entire time. So yummy!

Honey-Spice Drumsticks

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
I halved the recipe for 5 drumsticks, didnt use orange juice or orange zest, just a scoop of sweet orange marmalade. Baked for 20 each side at 375 degrees - no complaints! Leaving out the juice seems to help keep it thick for a nice glaze. Will make this again!

Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2013
This sat in my recipe box for 2 years - do not make the same mistake! I made this tonight with no leftovers! I used 3 cloves of garlic, cooked 6 thighs for 40 mins, and topped with chopped green onion. My husband and I LOVED it!!! I also used brown sugar instead of Splenda.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
Wow, this was so bad. I followed the recipe and it turned out really spicy, which is fine for me, but other than that, there was no flavor. My chicken tasted like newspaper too. What an expensive waste! Never again!

Mama's Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2013
I liked this, pretty easy and straight forward. I used deli mustard instead of yellow mustard (ew) and the horseradish, and surprisingly it wasn't over powering. I also added green onions and used two pickles. I cant wait to see what my husband thinks! Hes kind of a potato salad snob :)

Beef Florentine

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
My husband and I liked it. I used one can of tomato paste and a cup of spaghetti sauce, since thats all I had. I sauted the onion and garlic with the meat and then let it simmer with the water and sauce mixture. It turned out great! Totally tastes like lasagna, but takes less effort!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
This was my first time making chicken noodle soup from scratch...and it was awesome! I used a roasted chicken from the dinner the night before, and added garlic to the onions as they cooked. I also threw in a can of cream of chicken soup for a little thicker broth. My husband loved it, he even ate the leftovers for breakfast.

Nikki's Creamy Crock Pot Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
SO YUMMY!! I tweaked a few things - did not use bacon (i just didnt feel like cooking it), used only 2 cups of milk, and added one cup of chicken broth and 1/2 cup of water. I also cooked the onion and garlic on the stove, then transferred to my crock pot. Love this, will make it again!

Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
This was an easy bread and glaze to make. I think it could use more lemon zest and more lemon juice to make it more lemony. The glaze was great, I used 3/4 c of powdered sugar to thicken it up. My husband loved it, I will make it again, but with more zest and juice.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Super yummy! I didn't use buttermilk because I was going for a less creamy dressing, and it still turned out great! I will be making this again for sure!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

This is my go to recipe for stuffing during the holidays. I dont change a a thing except the broth amount. I sort of eyeball it as I go so it doesnt get too mushy. Everything else is right on cue!

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
These were a huge hit at my family gathering recently. I did have to make two practice batches because they kept turning out too soggy in the middle, but once I got the timing down and refrigerated them for a few hours before serving, they turned out great! I suggest using blueberry pie filling, that was the family favorite.

Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
I suggest making sure to "beat" the steak until its thin throughout so that it crisps up better in the pan. I think I would have enjoyed this recipe more had I done that. I also would cut the sauce down by about a fourth and add more hot spice to it. I doubt I'll make it again unless I get a random craving for it.

This is the best meatloaf I have ever tasted/made. I couldnt find the cheese flavored crackers, so I used the regular ones and it still turned out amazing! My husband loved it, no leftovers!
