About this Cook
Im a single mom with 6 chilren all uner the age of 12. I make a living selling home made tortillas door to door. We live very well off of our family buisness.
My favorite things to cook
I love to prepare cereal. Always a winner with the kids!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a full time pilot/mechanic for her own airline, so she wasnt around much to pass down any cooking traditions, rather I taught myself to cook and my 7 younger brothers so we could survive.
My cooking triumphs
The perfect combination of chunky penut butter and grape jelly make a great sandwhich I am most proud of.
My cooking tragedies
One winter afternoon about two months ago my 4 younger kids wanted to bake cookies. When we were all ready to put them in the oven we realized our electricity had been cut due to non payment. My dear neighbor left us in charge of pet sitting in her home while she was out on vacation, so we helped ourselves to her oven. I suddenly recieved a call that the older 2 kids had been in a mild car accident. We rushed over to the E.R. and they were Ok. That evening we came home to see that our kind neighbor´s house had burned to a crisp. We forgot the oven on. Needless to say, we havent baked cookies since.

Fresh Strawberry Pie III
Whole family ejoyed this a lot. Didnt have strawberry gelatin, used raspberry instead. Yum. Followed others' idea, and put a layer of cream cheese between the crust and filling. Such a good idea!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting
I took an other's suggestion and used 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar in place of the regular sugar. I had absolutlely NO problem with piping this frosting and it was DELICIOUS!

Old-Fashioned Italian Zucchini Fritters
We all thought these were really good. I squeezed out the excess water like suggested and added crushed red pepper flakes. Like I said, we liked them and will make again, but needs a little something more. I guess I will keep experementing.
