Chef John's Creme Fraiche
I came across this by accident while looking for something else, and it looked so simple I had to give it a go. I've done it a couple of times now, always turns out great! I like the idea of feeding my family more 'natural' foods rather than store bought bread that never molds, and 'artificially soured' cream, etc. I was a bit freaked out by the idea of leaving cream in a warm place for a couple of days, but really, this is even safer than how sour cream was made decades ago. I also like the idea that it doesn't break when cooking, I plan to try using my current batch in something like that. I've added chipotle powder to it to use as a spicy dip too.

Easy Guacamole
I have a bit of aversion to green slimy foods, and so I'm fairly new to guacamole. But we're trying to add some healthy fats to our diets, this was simple, so it was the first version I ever tried. It's delicious! I don't normally have tomatoes on hand since I don't care for them on their own, so I use a bit of salsa in its place, and add a bit of chipotle powder since I like that warm smoky flavour. We use this to dip crackers or chips in, or as a sandwich spread.

Lemon Basmati Rice
I've tried a lot of recipes from Allrecipes.com. Most turn out great, some need a few tweaks, some aren't great no matter what I try, but never inedible...until now. I don't know if my lemon was too big (produced a half cup of juice), or our tastes are just way different than any of the other reviewers. But this was awful, and it smelled worse than it tasted.
