As a young child, I yearned for an easy-bake oven, but alas, that day never came. When I became a little older, I would read my mother's cookbooks looking for something to create. I remember french crepes were my favorite thing to make.
Now, that I am living on my own, my passion for cooking is an asset. Let's just say, that in college, I never had to dine on Ramen noodles! After a long day of work, there is nothing more relaxing than the mixing of ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
I actually don't have one favorite thing to cook. I simply love experimenting in the kitchen, and I find that is when I make the best things! I would love to learn how to prepare Greek and Spanish cuisine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Puerto-Rican grandmother would make feast for 30 people or more. I love her "arroz con gandulez" and "Lechon asado."
My mother should be a gourmet chef! I would love to move back home, only for her cooking. Every night at her house is an event. I guess that's why my friends always ask to come over for dinner!!!
My cooking triumphs
My crowning moment was Sausage & Cheese Cornbread, however, I cannot take all of the credit. My best friend and I took leftover grilled kielbasa and smoked gouda and threw it into a cornbread batter we made. Delicious is an understatement!
My cooking tragedies
It was my first time cooking for a guy I had just begun dating. It was an easy dish, so I was not concerned. His constant teasing about my cooking made me so nervous, that when I took the chicken out of the oven, I spilled the sauce!!!
