Classic Tiramisu
Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns
About this Cook
I'm a mother of two adorable kids, one boy and one girl. I am also a career woman and find time to cook most things from scratch. I try my best to eat healthy but still use white flour!
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna, chicken parm, anything baked including bread, cakes, rolls, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every day when I came home from school my Italian mother would have the whole house filled with the smell of garlic and olive oil as she made Aglio y Olio yet again. To this day, garlic and olive oil smell like love to me.
My cooking triumphs
I am usually successful since I read the reviews on allrecipes.com so carefully! I now make cakes from scratch as well as cinnamon rolls, biscuits, bread, pie crust and lots more. Stil don't make tortillas from scratch, however. It's too hard!
My cooking tragedies
Wow, I made some really terrible crabcakes once. I also made horrible devilled eggs once using balsamic vineagar instead of regular. Bad and ugly colored. And one extremely poor winter in college I tried to eat raisin bran with both water and, another time, orange soda. Both were bad, but the soda was way worse. Go with the water next time you're that poor!

Real Italian Calzones
I'm giving this five stars, not as a calzone, but as a pizza crust! I searched forever to find the perfect crust and here it is. It makes up quickly, no proofing of the yeast, and it stretches out nice and soft. Here are pizza making tips: make the pizza on parchment paper and slide the whole paper and pizza onto the preheated pizza stone, then when cooked, slide the whole thing off onto a cookie sheet. Done. Also, try tomato paste straight out of the jar instead of sauce. If your pizza gets too wet, it's gross. The paste gives a lot of tomato flavor without any wetness. Give it a try!

Tzatziki Sauce (Yogurt and Cucumber Dip)
Perfect! I used greek yogurt, as suggested by another reviewer, and it was absolute perfection. Exactly what I wanted. I only let the cucumber drain about 30 minutes and it was fine. I let the flavors marry for two days.

Classic Tiramisu
Delish! Made exactly as written, but could only let sit for 3 hours. I used Kahlua and brushed it on, but wish I had dipped, it needed more. The bakery of my HEB had ladyfingers back in the freezer. I used other reviewers tip of getting two 3oz. ladyfinger packages, but I actually needed a few more to layer properly, so will get three packages next time. To approximate a double boiler I put a few inches of water in a pot, then put heavy foil over the top, then put a metal bowl on top of the foil and settled it down with the ingredients in it. It worked, but was very hard to take the bowl out, as everything was extremely hot and I spilled a little bit as I burned myself. I used a springform pan and presentation was great. Next time will put cocoa powder in the cream mixture to add taste, as my cream tasted just like whipped cream, kinda boring.
