I followed all the suggestions made: used 1/3 each granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, and confectioner's sugar. Also added slightly less than 1/4 cup white flour. I also used Skippy's Natural peanut butter and used slightly more than a cup. It was nice to skip the hydrogenated oil altogether! I also rolled them in granulated sugar which isn't mentioned in the recipe, but shown in the picture. I kept them in for 12 minutes. I might use light brown sugar next time or leave them slightly less time since they tasted ever so slightly over done. However, our kids loved them, and they were SO easy to make.
