About this Cook
I have been a professional Chef/Baker for many years and still love trying new recipes and developing new ideas.
My favorite things to cook
My daughters favourite meal is curried chicken roti, so it has become one of my favourites although baking is my love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I beleive that my love of cooking is thanks to being in the kitchen with my grandmother. Watching her make yummy brownies, cookies and homemade preserves is at the root of my cooking career. I have learned the importance of that experience and am passing it on to my daughter.
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs.....hmmmm...I have a certain knack for most desserts. Not sure why, but they always seem to turn out for me.

Funnel Cakes IV
Very, Very yummy. Makes quite a few large (7") funnel cakes. Rolled some in sugar/cinnamon, some in powdered sugar and fresh strawberries and cream. Made recipe exactly with the only addition of 2 tsps of vanilla. Found I only needed 3 cups of flour to reach desired consistency.

Banana Crumb Muffins
Really good banana muffin...I added some walnuts in mine and my daughter loved the crumble topping. Thanks!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
These are some fantastic cookies!!! Spicy and not too sweet. The first couple times I used butter instead of margarine and found that they spread out and were a little crispy...tried the margarine as called for in the recipe and they came out perfectly! Thanks for a great recipe its a new fall favourite!
