Basil Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Very good dressing. I cut the recipe in half and it made a week's worth of great spinach salads.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
This was pretty good for an easy weeknight meal. Certainly not something I would make for company but was pretty good for the amount of effort required. For some reason the leftovers weren't very good, maybe I was just sick of it.

Maryland Crab Cakes III

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
These are very good. I cut the mayo in half and added an egg instead, they stayed together well. For the crab meat, I used all fresh crab- 1/2 lb lump crabmeat and 1/2 lb claw meat. Great recipe.

Crab Cake Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This is a good recipe. I used all low fat (not non-fat) ingredients and it turned out well. This is a healthier alternative to a noramal remoulade or tartar sauce. This recipe makes a TON so you will likely want to cut it in half unless you're making it for a big party.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This was very good. I skipped the orange juice and used real butter. Turned out great!

Cornbread and Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This was really good. I even used lighter pork sausage and it was still delicious. The sausage makes it really salty, so I didn't add any salt and was glad I didn't. I cooked the sausage and vegetables in the morning then stuck them in the fridge, and just microwaved them for about 30 seconds before adding to the stuffing that night. This was great stuffed inside a chicken and by itself.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This didn't have any flavor! I would sub chicken broth for beer, and shred the cihcken at least an hour before serving so it would absorb some more flavor. I found the flavor to be lacking and it was just missing something. I tried adding another packet of taco seasoning and it didn't help.

Barley Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Great recipe. Couldn't find pine nuts at the grocery store and didn't have time to chop the mushrooms but was still good without those ingredients. Great comfort food recipe for fall.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
This recipe was good with a few modifications. Added more chili powder than called for, some ground cumin, red pepper flakes, and a shake of nutmeg. Also, subbed Rotel for the diced tomatoes, added a few T of Worcestershire sauce, a can of black beans and a bottle of dark beer. If I make it again, I will use a packet of Williams chili seasoning rather than the chili powder. This probably isn't my favorite chili recipe but it's so healthy, was easy to make and tasted pretty good.

Yum! This was absolutely delicious. Perfect dish for fall! Followed the recipe exactly and my husband and I loved it. I'm going to make it for girlfriends next week. Great recipe.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I enjoyed this soup. I subbed Italian seasoned ground turkey for the sausage and it worked out well. Next time, I think I will peel the potatoes first and cut them into much smaller chunks, and make a roux so it will be a little thicker. Good recipe.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
Great recipe! I couldn't find my grandmother's recipe for sugar cookies and this was every bit as good. Save yourself some grief and put it in the fridge overnight, not just an hour. Dough was very workable when cold. Just a note on number of servings - this might make 60 very small cookies but I was making somewhat large Santa cookies and I ended up with about 2 dozen. Terrific recipe!

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Great! Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce and one minced chipotle pepper in adobo sauce for a little kick. Makes enough for an army, so cut in half if you're not feeding a crowd.

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
What a great casserole. Only modification was to use plain, reduced fat sausage rather than sage flavored. The cottage cheese adds such a delicious, creamy texture. I definitely will make it again and may try adding some chiles or something for little spice. But absolutely delicious as written.

I enjoyed this but I'm not sure my husband did. It was a bit bland but definite comfort food.

This is so good. I made it for brunch and was thrilled to have some leftovers to enjoy for days. The cottage cheese is a pleasant surprise in the dish.

Creamy Chipotle Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This was a bit one-dimensional for me. All I could taste were the chipotles (which I love) but I wanted something more. I just need to make a rule not to make crock pot recipes that call for cream of chicken soup. Yuck.

Herb Roasted Pork

This was moist, flavorful and delicious. I served it for Easter lunch and it was wonderful. Next time, I will use low fat soy sauce as I found it a bit salty.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
These were so delicious. I ended up making them twice in a week. So easy. Let everything marinate for at least 8 hours or so. Next time I'll try it with some fresh pineapple chunks. I wonder if subbing some sesame oil for some of the vegetable oil would be a good flavor? Definitely a keeper!
