Bannock

this is a good basic recipe. Sometimes i roll it out thinner and fill it with smoked salmon or other meats. I got this idea while up in the okanagan with my grandmother. There is a little shop up there that sells freshly made stuffed bannok. I have been looking for a god recipe for bannok ever since. Thanks for sharing

Fish Supreme

as is i think this is a 3 but with the changes i made it was much better. First of all i sliced the potatoes like i would if i was making scalloped potatoes. Then i litghtly greased the baking dish and put the potatoes in BEFORE the fish. I also added a sliced onion and some spices. Then i put the fish on top, then topped it all off with the tomato sauce

Baked Onion Rings

VERY good. A heathy alternative to a deep fried favorite. I added dome different spices and used some baking powder and flour in the bread crumbs. They came out crunchy and delicious. I also double dipped them into the egg and bread crumbs for a thicker coating. Thanks for the excellent recipe!

Canadian Maple Rice Pudding

this was pretty good. I used real maple syrup instead of the extract. I didnt need as much milk as was called for and it didnt thicken up as much as i thought it would. Also the rice didnt cook very well. I had to simmer it after adding the milk for more like 30 mins. This recipe is similar to one i make all the time. I cook the rice in 1/2 c sugar and a combo of milk and water(i add alittle more than is needed)then when rice is cooked i add spices or vanilla, marg and a little more milk to give it a rice pudding cinsistancy

Quick Bread Mix

MMMMMM...this is now my go to recipe. I halved the reciipe and made 2 loaves last night. I followed the recipe and added 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water then sprinkled sugar on top before putting it in the oven. I didnt add anything else to it- no fruit or anything- and it was delish!! They didnt last long! I just made the rest of the mix but this time i grated some carrots, added some cinnamon and ground cloves and just used water and used muffin tins and again they are soooo good. I know im going to have to go make some more. Thank you for the great recipe!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Milkshake

this was good but i made a few changes...i added chocalate milk instead of regular milk and i used more to thin it out(you could also use chocolate ice cream instead)I also used less pb, about 1/2 cup

Fruit Fizzies

was good, though not as fizzie as i expected but still good all the same. i juiced my own oj(next time ill just use store bought)i also only put 1/4 c water and a 1/4 tsp baking soda. I filled the rest of the glass up with oj(maybe why it wasnt fizzie as i expected?).

Bella's Mac and Cheese

Sorry just didnt see the point in melting the butter and cheese together. I would suggest melting the cheese in milk instead and buttering the noodles after they are cooked, before you put the cheese/milk mixture on top.

Mock Apple Pie II

the only reason i gave it 4 stars was because i changed it. i didnt use pie crust, i made a crust using quick cooking oats, crackers, brown and white sugar, marg. and all spice. i pressed that into a pie plate, broke some crackers and put them on top of the crust. i had an apple and a pear in the fridge that needed to be used up so i sliced them up and covered the crackers, then pured maple syrup on top of the fruit. i poured the syrupfrom the recipe over and topped it with a crust made from instant oatmeal(apple cinn.), sugar, marg, crackers. it was so delicious. When it was done naking, i topped it with some of the syrup i had leftover(made extra)and some maple syrup. I will definately have to make the original next time.

Oven Fried Chicken III

mmmmm..so good. I used drummettes. i added ceasar dressing and milk to the mayo(used only 1/2 cup). I also added some chili powder, tumeric and pepper. Be careful and only coat the chicken with alittle mayo or it'll get soggy(learned the hard way the first time). I used a combo of bread crumbs and crackers and i added the same seasonings as i did in the mayo mix. I baked at 375 for 40 mins and the turned them and baked them for another 15 at 400. came out crispy and moist! i would have given it 5 stars but i think that the it should have said not to use too much mayo. served it with mexican rice. Absolutely delsih!

Grandma's Banana Bread

I only put 2 1/2 cups of sugar in because as i was adding it i thought 3 was alot. I also used 7 bananas and 1 cup of 2% milk as thats what i had. And also i added about a tsp of cinnamon. I was really worried as it was cooking because almost an hour after i put it in the outside was nice and brown but the inside was completely raw(looked like i just put it in) I thought for sure it was ruined! It ended up taking an hour and a half but man is it worth it! Tender, moist, sweet( but not sickly so) and the top got nicely crisp. I still have one more loaf to make(i put it in 2 loaf pans) and the first is almost gone already!

Black and White Pizza

this looks and sounds delish, i had to make a few changes though because i didnt have everything the recipe called for. I had no alfredo sauce so i used some diced tomatoes with their juice, then i sprinkled some chopped garlic. I also used only chedder as that was what i had on hand. i followed the rest of the recipe as is except i used a pita instead of pizza dough...was soooo yummmy!

German Potato Pancakes

I have never had potato cakes work for me.. never. These tasted great and had a good consistancy. The only thing I did differently was to add more flour- next time I will only add 1 egg. To those that complained of them being wet- they aren't going to be dry like a normal pancake. There wil be some wetness. Make sure the oil is nice and HOT or the cakes will soak it up instead of fry. Thanks for the great recipe!

Yellow Cake Made from Scratch

This cake is so yummy. I folloiwed the recipe to a T only subbing marg for the shortening. Came out perfect; not too sweet, subtle vanilla flavor.. so good. I didn't find it too dry as others said, maybe they cooked it just a bit too long? Maybe they were expecting something like a boxed cake? This is not a boxed cake. It doesnt have the same texture as a boxed cake; that is good. If you want a good home made cake, this is it. TIP: do not over mix when adding the flour, just mix until you dont see the flour. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Easy Lasagna II

I really like this recipe. I didnt havwe any ricotta. I used 2 680ml cans of pasta sauce and 1 28oz can of diced tomatoes and no water. I cooked the ground beef with onions, garlic and green peppers, then set that aside. Then I heated up the tomatoes and sauce. I covered the bottom of my dish with the sauce mix, 5 lasagna noodles(4 across and one at the edge), meat and veggie mix, sauce, noodles, etc..topped with marble cheese. Was soo good and took no time at all. Next time though I will use more meat and add the ricotta and spinsch. Thanks for a good recipe.

Speedy Ice Cream

I was just talking about this recipe with my boyfriend... I made this when i was in 6th grade for science and it was so good and simple. I couldnt remember the recipe and we dont have an icecream maker so i came on here to see if i could find something similar and i did. Thank you so much for the recipe!
