Chocolate Chocolate Chip Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
Best choc chip muffin...i will always use this as my basic recipe now ;) I too added more cocoa powder & used 3/4 cup, 1/4 cup more milk & 3 tbsp oil. I did not hv any choc chips or nuts on hand, so i used what i had which was white choc chip~delicious!!!! I will consider adding peanut butter or caramel chips & add perhaps a tbsp of instant coffee powder as well...i think coffee will enhance the flavour of cocoa ;) - will keep u all posted.

Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
An excellent recipe. I changed a couple of things - swopped butter for a healthier option of Canola oil as my hubby is reducing his cholesterol & fat intake & upped the honey to half cup as we prefer a sweeter loaf ~ simply delicious with a chicken & lentil stew for dinner & doubles up as dessert with coffee or at breakfast with coffee. This recipe makes a 1 pound loaf (453gram) & my Kenwood bread maker has a minimum setting of 550g about 1.5 pound loaf, & tho the shape of the loaf didn't turn out as nice as it shud have with sufficient dough mixture - it had a luvly crust & the interior of the bread was a nice soft dense texture, just fabulous! I will double the amount on my next bake.

Beef Stew III

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
A good base recipe, however I made some changes by marinating the beef cubes with some salt & HP sauce - u can add more to the stew later on according to your taste. I also added garlic together with the onions after browning the meat & instead of just adding water, I also added a can of campbell's french onion soup made from beef stock, large egg noodles & green peas. Delicious!

Butter Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
Tasty! I omitted the lemon juice & used fresh thyme leaves instead & fried the chicken instead of grilling/roasting as there was an electrical problem associated with the use of my oven at home....but all turned out well - crispy tasty brown skin and succulent buttery juicy meat, served with stir fried potatoes with olive oil & fresh thyme leave & a sprinkle of salt (was meant to have been roasted potatoes) :)

Lemon Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
great recipe indeed & i followed it as is, but the only problem is that i didnt change the scaling and the default 16 servings recipe is way too much (oh, i didnt use a tube pan, but a regular 10" round pan) - & the cake mix was enough for two of my cake pans so next time I will just halve the recipe portions. perfect moist pound cake texture - delicious taste! i tried my hand at making glaze from melting 1/3 cup butter with 1 cup powder sugar - now that didnt work....it just kinda turned out too dry (not of drizzle consistency) & I didnt know how to fix that. Other than my glaze problem, a GREAT cake recipe.

Rosemary Chicken

The recipe was just alright, find it bland, but might just as well be as the other dish i made for dinner was thai green curry shrimp which was incredibly flavorful. Don't think I'll make this dish again.

Asparagus Medallions

An easy recipe indeed, tasty too! I followed some of the advice from the other reviews and seasoned the chops with season salt, pepper & worchester sauce, then browned the chops with some olive oil & butter..... gr8 recipe but i'd leave it to simmer a little longer than 30mins (maybe 45-50mins) as i still found the meat to be not as soft as it could be. Will definitely make this dish again. I served the chops with garlic mash & sauteed button mushrooms - yummy!
