Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 25, 2013
This is an easy and excellent recipe. It allows room for mistakes and omissions too. I've left out onion and was short on cheeses another time, and it still turned out great.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
The tikka marinade part was dead on for flavor (minus all the salt and add garam masala), but the sauce was nothing like authentic Indian tikka masala sauce. It didn't taste bad, but it's not what you'd get from a true Indian restaurant. I don't know where all these people have been eating their Indian food to review the recipe as exactly or even close to what authentic chicken tikka masala is.

Baked Cream Corn

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2011
This could be really good with a few changes. I found it to be super runny, too peppery and a little salty. Next go around I plan to use one can of corn instead of creamed corn and extra flour to thicken it up. Half the pepper and a little less salt. Hopefully, that will do the trick and make it look like the picture!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
Hands down best recipe with no changes necessary. Bottoms are slightly crisp and the rest is chewy.

Chocolate Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
This TASTED GREAT, but it was really ugly. (used french vanilla pudding) Someone even came by and said it looked like a pile of graham crackers with pudding and hershey's syrup...and that's pretty much what it was, except I made the chocolate sauce on the recipe and it was too runny and didn't cover the cake. Wish it was as pretty as the cover photo, but it didn't turn out like that AT ALL.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
I recommend omitting the salt. The chips already have so much salt on them that it makes the guacamole chip combination too salty. Added a dash of cumin like the others and it was just what it needed to make it 5 stars.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
This was pretty good, but not fantastic, a little dry to me. I like my spinach dips more soupy and this was very dry and chunky. It tasted much better with bread than with tortilla chips.

Kraft® Boston Cream Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
So yummy and easy to make. I ended up doubling the icing and using 1.5 of it to cover the cake. Took the advice of others and used french vanilla pudding and substituted 1/2 C of heavy cream for milk. Came out perfect.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Good, but a little too citrusy for me too. Definitely reduce cornstarch and cook the chicken separately and just pour the prepared sauce after it's thickened.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
One of the better chicken casserole recipes out there. HOWEVER, be sure to prepare your stuffing before putting it over the chicken. Omitting this step will leave you with hard breadcrumb-like stuffing on top. I also used extra cheese to make it even better.

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Great combination of ingredients. I was making for only two, so I cut all the ingredients in half except for the garlic and crushed red peppers. Came out perfectly.

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
Excellent recipe with a little tweaking. Definitely use less cornstarch, 1/4 is more than enough and will give you sweetness and thickness. I will add more vinegar next time to give it a kick. Sauteing with flour instead of cornstarch also helps cut the sweetness.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
Followed the recipe, but my cornbread did not turn out moist like the others'. It was dry and crumbly, but the taste was good. I don't think it's too sweet as some had commented. Try it for yourself and leave the sugar as is.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
Delicious and easy to make. I also used sirachi hot sauce and it gave the chicken just the perfect dish. Use only one tablespoon if you don't want it too hot.

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
Absolutely delicious and so easy to make. I cut the butter by 3 tablespoons and didn't miss it, used mini-morsels and dropped 12 tablespoons of the chocolate batter on top of the peanut butter layer to create the swirls and it created perfectly defined swirls while keeping a layer of the peanut butter in tact.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Easy and delicious recipe. I only used two lamb chops and had just enough balsamic reduction for the two and to drizzle on mixed greens. I recommend doubling the recipe if you plan to use the four it calls for.
