Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
I wish there was a feature to add MORE STARS! This recipe was one of the best things that I have ever made. EVER! My only advice is to amend the cooking time because, at least for me, the lamb ended up needing to be cooked almost double the recommended time. It was fortunate that I made this dish for my family, because if I had been preparing it for company I would've been embarrassed that the timing of my dishes was so off. Still, a wonderful, wonderful recipe. Thank you so much! And the video tutorial was fantastic; it was right-on and gave me a lot of confidence to approach an intimidating piece of meat. Thanks again!!

Chinese Roast Chicken with Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
This was crazy-salty and I don't think I'd make it again. It was pretty, as far as presentation, but even though I used reduced-sodium soy sauce, I still found it really salty. When there are so many nice roast chicken recipes, I don't think I'd use this one to fall back on.

Stupid Simple Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2013
This is quick and easy, and pretty good. I was surprised that the lemon imparted so much flavor to the chicken! I would make it again. Thanks.

Fluffy Haddock and Potato Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2013
I didn't enjoy this recipe enough to want to make it again in the future. I have a ton of recipes that do not require as much work and yield results much tastier; this is quite bland. Also, I recommend adding the milk mixture little by little because I think there was too much milk (results were very runny) and also the method of preparation involving using the same milk you cook the fish in left me tasting way too much "fishy" taste in the final product. I like fish, so long as it doesn't taste like fish. Thanks, anyway. It was worth a shot!

Bowler Beef Marinade

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
What a nice, easy marinade! We all really enjoyed this...I cut down slightly on the liquids in the recipe, because I only had 2 steaks to cook, but kept the seasonings pretty much the same. The meat was very tender and we all enjoyed the flavor. Thanks!

Cheesy Chicken Jalapeno Ramen Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2013
I was disappointed in this recipe; it sounded neat and different, so I was looking forward to seeing what all of these ingredients would yield. The result, however, was very bland and frankly didn't taste like much. I guess I could've used extra hot sauce, but then it would probably just taste like hot sauce. I wouldn't make these again.

Mojo Roast Chicken (Pollo Asado)

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
I would definitely make this again; it's a very nice way to enjoy a whole chicken. The method of preparation is very interesting and exciting--when I added the garlic, etc. to the hot oil, it actually seemed to cook it a little bit in the bowl! Very aromatic. The chicken only took about 45 mins to cook; my only complaint is it was quite greasy because of all the oil and the natural oils in the skin. My family liked it a lot; thanks!

Slow Cooker Guisado Verde

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
We were hoping it would be like a nice, green chile stew, but the flavors just weren't there. You can't count on canned green chile for any flavor...gotta have the real deal--fresh and roasted! Anyway, it was an easy meal and it smelled really good all day...would probably be great for people with a blander palate, but we were hoping for more.

Spicy Korean Slow Cooked Chicken (Dhak Dori Tang)

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Really enjoyed this recipe--changed the cooking methods a little; I pan-fried the chicken until crisp and golden, then added the soy sauce and let it cook through. The veggies I did separately (omitting the onion) in a fry-pan; I cooked them with the seasonings in a little bit of water until they were soft and cooked through. I like to use Rocoto chile paste (available in Mexican food stores); it is really spicy, but doesn't overpower the other flavors in the meal. Thanks!! We will definitely make this again.

Spicy Orange Bison Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
I will definitely make these meatballs again; they weren't on my "Top-Ten Most Tasty Meatballs Ever" list, but they disappeared into the bellies of my husband and son, so that's certainly saying something! I made them with beef instead of bison and would add only about a cup of water, rather than three cups; I had to add some cornstarch in the end to get it to thicken. Thanks for the recipe!

Spicy Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
This was a yummy soup, but it makes a lot so be ready for a lot of leftovers or (as I did) put half into the freezer for another meal later on--which is so nice! Also, in the future, I think I would add some andouille sausage for some protein and to make sure that it's a filling meal, or else serve it as an appetizer soup with a full meal coming behind it. Thanks--I would make this again.

Maple Toffee Bars

A good base recipe to which many fun flavors could be added. Tasty, but more of a chocolate shortbread than a "toffee."

Melting Snowmen OREO Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
OK...seriously...one of my top three favorite cookies of all time!!!!!!!!!!! The taste is absolutely decadent; out of this world!! I made them because I thought they were cute; I never expected them to be so delicious. Great job, Oreo, on making a recipe using your cookies that I would actually make for taste along, not counting how adorable the melting snowmen are! My only change would be to try refrigerating the cream cheese balls before dipping in the chocolate because mine melted a little in the chocolate, making the white appear a bit "dirty" in places because of the brown chocolate mixing in. Overall, I am very pleased, though. THANKS!

I don't usually care to eat raw kale, but the dressing makes this a very lovely salad. I love the nutrition of the kale, so this is a great way to enjoy it; thanks!!

Wazzu Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
We LOVED this chili recipe! My hubby adores chili and I like to try new recipes each time I make it; this is a definite winner. I eliminated the habañero and cayenne because I was cooking for my kids too, and the spice level with the jalapeño and chili powder was just enough for us. I liked the robust, rounded flavor and it was a very warming winter dish. I also eliminated the water, since we like our chili thicker. I did not add salt, since canned beans tend to be very salty also. Thanks for a great recipe--oh, yeah: I browned the meats and then just threw everything into the crock pot for the day--PERFECT and EASY!!

Creamy White Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
PERFECTION! We really loved this recipe--and I am not usually a white chili person. This was really great and so easy--I just cooked the chicken and then threw it and all other ingredients into the crock pot for the day. The aroma was insanely delicious and was tempting me all day long!!! I will definitely make this again--THANK YOU!

Carol's Arroz Con Pollo

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
I thought this was a nice, simple and easy meal; I was in the mood for saffron and this satisfied my craving...the rice was creamy and the flavors were nice (I used extra saffron, omitted the tomatoes). You could really add many different veggies, for variety, ie) we ate it with broccoli and it was very good. I would also try artichokes or palmitos. Also, I used brown rice because we prefer for flavor and nutrition, but it requires a little extra broth and longer cooking time.

Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
This was easy and delicious! I will definitely make it again; my husband really raved about it and I had second helpings!! The only change that I made was to increase the dairy element, adding the 1/2 cup of sour cream, plus 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt. I liked the extra creaminess and it really enhanced the flavor, too!
