Quick Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
Don't skip the pickle juice! It makes the dish. I've used all kinds of cheese depending on what is in the fridge. I've used ground beef, ground turkey, and vegetarian meat substitute. I've used pie crust and a biscuit topping (cheeseburger "cobbler", I guess). It is still delicious.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2013
This recipe helps use up your extra zucchini 50% faster than most other recipes. It is also very tasty! It is sweeter than I like, so I reduce the sugar to 1 and 1/2 cups. Do not skip the vanilla, it adds depth to the flavor. I made a batch in a bundt pan and it cooked in about 45 minutes.

Butterhorn Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
These were fluffy and flaky. I made the recipe as written for Thanks Giving, and everyone loved them. They are even wonderful with whole-wheat flour!

Pretzel Buns

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
These make very nice rolls with a fine crumb and good flavor. I mix and knead the dough in an electric mixer. Like any yeast bread the "6 cups" of flour is an estimate, but do not add too much flour or the rolls will be dry. I recommend them especially as a roll for a cheese steak sandwich.

One - Two - Three - Four Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
This is a good cake. I used fresh lemon peel and I think that made a big difference. It is more dense than a typical yellow cake.

Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Not terrible, but too sweet. I'll make it again but with less sugar and a little heat.

Pocket Bread

This was easy to make and the loaves formed very well. Be carefull not to over cook them or they will be hard.

Barbecued Country Ribs

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
This tastes a lot more complicated than it is. I read the recipe twice to make sure I didn't forget any seasonings-some how the ketchup and onions turn into something complex during the cooking. I will absolutely make this again

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
These were moist and not too sweet- just the way I like them. Just be aware that the batter is a little more runny than usual muffin batter because the oatmeal doesn't soak up the liquids like flour does.

Sausage Hash

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
My husband and I really enjoyed this. I used a cast iron skillet to get the potatoes nice and browned. This is going into the regular dinner menu rotation at our house, for sure...possibly breakfast also.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Very good dough. Unlike most yeast pizza doughs I've tried, it does not taste sweet and it is easy to stretch thin. This is my new fav recipe, for sure.

Whole Wheat Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
These were very good. As others have said, thay are less sweet than the typical recipe. However, I think that makes them an excellent dinner roll replacer.

Zucchini Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
The recipe is easy and doesn't use any out-of the ordinary ingredients, but it's way too sweet for my taste. I'll make it again, but I'll cut the sugar.

Apple Pike

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
This is not a recipe-it's a yummy little TOY! It came together very well, although I did have to bake it 30 minutes, like some others did. I didn't add oil or butter, and I don't think it needs it-the quality of the apples is most likely the key to this one. I'm going to try this with other fruits, different spices, and maybe different flours.

Potato Salmon Patties

My husband must have liked these- he didn't douse them with ketchup or hot sauce. That says alot! I'll make these again, for sure.

Tofu Turkey II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
My family got a kick out of this! I may have to make a bigger one next Thanksgiving. I made a different stuffing, because the one in this recipe was very close to my mom's recipe, and I wanted everyone to try the tofu...the method worked perfectly, and the glaze was a hit!

Mediterranean Quinoa

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
This is an awsome dish! I took suggestions from the other reviewers- I reduced the cooking liquid and added some feta cheese. Also, I used canned tomatoes and used the liquid from the can as cooking liquid. A family member suggested it might make a good filling for stuffed peppers. I'll definately meke this again.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
I made these for a baby shower everyone thought they were great! I followed a few tips from other reviews-I used flavored cream cheese and took a little slice out of the big olives before I filled them. I have a feeling I'll be asked to make these again...
