Avocado, Tomato and Mango Salsa

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
Excellent recipe - I made it as written except I used a red pepper in place of the tomato - next time I will be sure to make a double batch because my son and I ate most of the first batch before supper !!

This is a great recipe - I made it exactly as written and my famly loved it !!! I served it with white cheddar mashed potatoes and steamed vegatables - this recipe is "Company Fare" but simple enough for a delicious weekday dinner :)

More than Fantastic Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
My family loves this soup - to make it even better I saute an onion, a few stalks of celery and some chopped red potatoes and then add the rest of the ingredients with the exception of the cream - instead I use a 12oz can of 2% evaporated milk to cut down on the fat. To speed up the process I make the soup on the stovetop not in a slow cooker - it's ready in 30 minutes. To keep the clams tender I add them last just to heat them up. Fantastic recipe !!!

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

My family loved this soup - the only changes that I did was I took everyone's advise and used a ham bone and Chicken Stock but also instead of dry beans I used a can of White Kidney Beans (Rinsed) Soup was on the table in less than 45 minutes !!!

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

I was surprised given the limited ingredient list, this casserole really was delicious. I skipped the chicken and I just mixed everything together rather than layering, but it was fantastic. My children gave it two thumbs up !!!

Sky High Yorkshire Pudding

I have tried so many recipes for Yorkshire Pudding and all without success. I've endured many comments over the years from my family about my Yorkie "pucks" ~ until now !!! This recipes was fantastic and the Yorkie's were so tender and tall, I could not believe it !! Finally, I can be proud !!

Thai Pork with Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
We loved this recipe ~ instead of using pork chops, we used pork tenderloin which we marinated with olive oil, cumin, ginger, cayenne and garlic then grilled the whole tenderloin and served it with the peanut sauce over rice. Delicious !!!

What an amazing marinate recipe!!! Really simple to put together and the taste really is that of restaurant quality. I used rib steaks and marinated them for about one hour and then BBQ'ed them - delicious !!!

Celery Smashers with Cream Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2001
This was a really tasty recipe and a great change from the ordinary mashed potatoes. I served it with grilled pork chops (using my secret of marinating the chops in chinese oyster sauce for several hours) and my husband is still talking about it!!! Thanx!!!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2001
My family (including my 6 year old) really enjoyed this soup, in spite of the fact that I got to the end of the recipe and realized that I didn't have any sour cream, but it still was amazing!!! I also took the advise of others and only used half of what the recipe called for of the dill and paprika. Great comfort food. Thanx!!

Chicken Savoy

I was a little skeptical when I looked at the ingredients list, however I was swayed by the reviews and decided to try it. What a delicious recipe!!! The flavours were well matched and really quick to make. I used boneless/skinless chicken breasts but other than that followed the recipe, watching to make sure that I didn't overcook the chicken. Served it with Rice sauted with onions and mushroom and some extra cheese. Yummy!!!

Pierogi Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2000
I was REALLY pressed for time, but wanted comfort food for dinner, so my shortcut was to use Betty Crocker Instant Potatoes rather that fresh and the second change that I made was to put the sauted onions and bacon and garlic right into the prepared potatoes. This casserole was delicious even with my shortcuts !!!
