French Toast I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
My first time making french toast and it came out great. I doubled the cinnamon and threw in some brown sugar in place of nutmeg. I'll make this one again.

I love it. My first time making bread and it came out perfect. Cut the recipe in half and no problems. Have a feeling I will be making this a lot...

Tandoori Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
I doubled the spices, and rather than use water I used 1 cup of yogurt. Marinated the chicken thighs for an hour, then baked in the oven. Came out awesome! Though like others said, this isn't really Tandoori chicken. Doesn't matter to me, I will be making this again.

Hawaiian Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
It was good, but too sweet for me. I used bone in thighs chicken. I cut the butter in half, as 1/4 cup seemed like it would be excessive. threw in some green pepper with 10 minutes to go. had some pineapple on the side. Went well with white rice. I don't know if I will make this again, but if I do I will cut the brown sugar in half.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
Mine took 20 minutes at most. Also, I think the salt was too much. I'll try again with less salt.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
Quick and easy recipe. I used 97/3 beef and it turned out excellent. Didn't hold together well as it was very juicy. Topping made it great. I cooked mine 1.5 hours.

Excellent cornbread on my first attempt ever. Better than the mix made stuff I grew up on. People at work loved it.

Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
My first attempt at banana bread, and I'm imressed! The recipe filled one 9x5 pan quite nicely. I used half brown sugar as others did. Next time I will try substituting some applesauce in place of butter as others recomended to make it even healthier!

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
I originally tried this with boneless chicken breast, it was good but not spectacular as the sauce didn't thicken up enough in the time it took to cook the chicken. I would have given it 3 or 4 stars based upon that first experience. MY fault of course because the recipe calls for wings, can't fault the other for that, it simply won't harden up in the amount of time it takes to cook chicken w/o the bone. The next time however I used thighs w/ bone and it turned out great!! I will make this regularly.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
This was my first attempt at making pizza and it turned out great. I cut the servings to 10 and that was a pretty good size for my 9x13 cookie sheet. Like others said you will probably want to add more flour in step 2, because it will still be very sticky if you use what the recipe says.

Easy Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
I enjoyed this sauce, but as per others advice, I cut the water back. I used 2/3 cup and it was about right--I couldn't imagine using the recommended amount, seems like it will be much too watery.

Buffalo Chicken Wings III

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
Excellent Buff chicken wings! My first time making them, and this was a good recipe. I cut back the tomato sauce to 1/2 cup. I used franks original for the red pepper sauce as recommended. Also, didn't have any cayenne pepper, but they were still great and still had zip. I like that they are not deep fried.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
Awesome pumpkin bread, I am sold! I took the advice of others and used half applesauce in place of oil. Next time I will try all applesauce. I didn't have nutmeg so I used some ginger in place. I took the advice of others and cut back on cloves and added more cinnamon. Didn't have whole wheat but i will try it next time. I'm going to bring these into work tomorrow and share, thanks for the great recipe!
