Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
I took the advice of some of the raters and increased the amount of peaches, but I didn't find this cobbler that great. Mine came out a too doughy. I may try this again using fresh peaches when they're available this summer.

Turkey in a Bag

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
I seasoned my 15 pound turkey with melted butter, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and ground pepper then stuffed the cavity with 3 stalks of celery and one small onion and cooked it for 3 hours. It came great! The breast skin was brown, but not crispy. I was happy that the breast was moist and not dry like it always is without using a bag. By stuffing the cavity with celery and onions and using a bag, there was quite a bit of juice created for the gravy. I'd use the bag again even if the skin doesn't get crispy for the fact that clean up was so easy and the turkey was very moist.

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I made this recipe with toasted slice almonds and milk chocolate chips and it was delicious! This recipe was easy to make. I put them in individually wrapped cellophane bags for Xmas gifts. Much easier than baking cookies!

Asian Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
I made this recipe using tri-tip sliced 1/4" thick. The meat is more tender than flank steak. You must marinate at least 24 hrs for the meat to absorb all the marinade and tenderize whatever meat you use. I grilled them on the BBQ grill for just about 3 minutes per side so they are just medium well. I placed the meat on top of a platter with sliced pineapple, then sprinkled sesame seeds on top for nice presentation for a party... and of course, everyone wanted the recipe!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
The cookies did not come out as chewy as I would have liked them, but my friends really enjoyed them. Will try making them again and decrease the cooking time a minute or two. Other than that, the cookie had a great taste and baked nicely.

Chicken Tortilla Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
To make this spicier, I added 2 tsp chili powder and 1 tsp cumin to the sauce. I also added a 7 oz can of diced green chilies and a cup of sliced black olives. Also, I used a combination of flour and corn tortillas, which gave it a nice texture. If you find that you like more sauce like I do, I also added in a can of cream of celery soup. Serve with sour cream on top. One of our family favorites!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
I followed the recipe except for not adding in the nuts. Next time I will cut back on the chocolate chips. I used the hand roll method since there were so many chocolate chips it was impossible to do the spoon method with the chips falling off the dough. Definitely worth the effort because the cookies tasted fabulous. This recipe will be a keeper!

Asian Chicken Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
I made this recipe again, but this time I added 2 teaspoons of sesame oil. The dressing was good before, but the sesame oil makes it great! ================================== I made this recipe for a potluck and everyone enjoyed it. Don't skip baking/roasting the noodles and nuts since that is what made the salad flavorful. I would definitely make this again!
